Natalie Portman. She is hot, decent actress, vegan, and nerd (as in science nerd).
Erm, lemme keep thinking

That's a good question. Let's define it as anyone in the public eye. So that includes people like Notch

Bill Hicks - Challenged peoples' perceptions of reality and social conventions unapologetically. Could be rough & unorthodox but had a heart of gold. In my opinion, he was spot-on about everything, but I don't expect most people to get his message. Good man. Bill Hicks is my main exception to my don't-idolise-celebrities rule (which I break a lot anyway, but hey). Taken from this world far too soon. After Hicks, if I had to pick two more (and I wasn't allowed to select Hicks twice more), possibly Nikola Tesla and Dennis Kucinich. I'm not sure. They're just the ones that come to mind at the moment. No doubt there are plenty of people who deserve to be on that list though.

This might sound cheesy, but John Carmack is pretty much the only person I deeply respect, look up to and whose thoughts and speeches I care about. It's not just for creating Doom but pushing the whole industry forward. 3D graphics could've ended up a whole lot different without him. That in turn directly affects the whole game industry of today. That is no small part in history. Sadly, I'll most likely never meet him in person, which is a shame. So, there. John

I would've said him but while I respect and admire him for what he does I don't really consider him a celebrity. Even a gaming niche celebrity. In my experience the average gamer has no idea who Carmack is, developers do, but a lot of gamers don't. Gabe is just more of a common name in gaming than John.

This might sound cheesy, but John Carmack is pretty much the only person I deeply respect, look up to and whose thoughts and speeches I care about. I like that he speaks openly and honest about things, he has a solid inclination towards making things work on a technical level. I respect him on that part, but he doesn't grasp much when it comes to actual gaming, he is lacking in areas I consider important. btw, you shoul thank Romero for Doom more than anyone else.
