Hi, I am working on a mini-metrodvania with C64 graphics:

some mockups...

animation tests: descending, climbing, digging, sliding

Pharaohs Return, under construction (teaser video)

More about Pharaohs Return in the web:
- devlog homepage (lazycow)
- the gallery (pixeljoint)
- graphics genesis (pixelation)
- will there be a C64 version? (lemon64)

Status: 60%
(finished the gameplay prototype and most of all graphics)

'hope you like it!

Ha, seems like you like it! I wasn't sure if the C64 graphics could still gather some attention. Most of the player movement in the gameplay prototype seems to work now. Time to slide the project gauge to 10%!

I have added some break-animation when the player stops. There's some inertia there that pushes him a few pixels ahead on a stop. This is annoying on edges, as he constantly falls down, so what about an auto-break on edges? (there's no autobreak if you continue to press your joypad)

Jumping: jumps immediately, but there's some friction again while landing. Ok, you might already know the hat! I am not sure if I should enter this sequence anytime you press down to slither or only if you barely manage to slide under a block. Also, I would like to add some more "hat"-actions, but I am out of ideas. Anything? Someone on tigirc made the suggestion, that you actually play the hat instead of the guy. (it's seducing... but... no)

@happymonster: Yes, some statues and hieroglyphics should be there. Good point!
