Feel like they are on fire far too often. Even though I only use the computer for roughly 4 hours a day.

To allieviate some of this eye-ache I purchased a pair of cheap +1.25 reading glasses.
Im indie, and far too poor for a good pair of Gunnars right now.

Is this a good idea, or will it only make the problem worse?
If you have any experience in this department please chime in post-haste!

Thanks yall

Hmm ... 4 hours doesn't sound that much really. Is your monitor an LCD? If not, get one. Perhaps the cause is something else? Make sure you get a fair amount of exercise every day. Observe yourself when sitting at a PC and make sure you are blinking often enough. Often times when working or playing around on a computer you get so immersed that you forget to blink, and this might cause a burning sensation. If your eyes are dry all the time, perhaps try to use some artificial tears.

If none of the above work see a doctor.

It may be my water consumption causing dryness.
I blink alot, but it doesnt seem to fix or prevent the problem

I'm going to give it a look, as I am nocturnal when it comes to dev work.

Edit: This is nice, very nice.

20 20 20 rule. Look at something 20 feet away for 20 seconds every 20 minutes.

Also, make sure your refresh rate is as high as it will go.

flux was nice, until I realize how badly it slowed my computer.
I don't know if it's running mossad spyware in the background or anythg, but some graphic intensive software I was using had become unuseable.
