The only big difference I see is the change from turns to real time. Turn based combat was quite pointless in the originals . It has low action, and the game doesn't allows a highly tactical combat, so real time seems better. Graphics are the same style and are good, so it's okay on that point.

Psh. Combat. Who cares about it anyways? You can complete F1 and F2 without any kind of combat.

I hope F3 keeps it that way. Otherwhise, that would be a big problem. Although finishing F1 without combat is really hard and needs doing weird stuff with the start/end combat button. F2 was better with that.

One thing that would really suck donkey balls would be requirement of combat to solve quests. I hope it doesn't turn out to be like that, but from what we've seen in the gameplay videos, pretty much every wasteland dweller (from npcs to the one-eyed creature thingies) seems to attack you on sight.

As long as there is none of that outright parody from the second game, I'm going to love it. I hated the second game so much. The gameplay was great but the story and tone was just retarded.

I hope F3 keeps it that way. So, it kinda doesn't. Bethesda has said it's impossible to complete Fallout 3 without entering combat.

People actually think the graphics are the only difference in FO3?

http://www.shacknews.com/onearticle.x/54651Fallout 3 Censorship Goes Global
Bethesda has revealed that following trouble with the ratings board in Australia, all versions of Fallout 3 will be identically censored when the game is released in October.
"We want to make sure folks understand that the Australian version of Fallout 3 is identical to both the UK and North American versions in every way, on every platform," Bethesda VP Pete Hines told Edge.
Fallout 3, a sequel expanding on Black Isle's classic PC RPG series, was initially refused classification in Australia, effectively banning the game from sale. The game was modified so that "the reward and incentive" for in-game drug use was reduced significantly and then given an MA-15+ rating.
Names for real-world drugs have also been removed from the game.
Hines asserted, "An issue was raised concerning references to real world, proscribed drugs in the game, and we subsequently removed those references and replaced them with fictional names." NICE GOING AUSTRALIA

Um, has it actually been released yet? It seems that a lot of people have already decided whether or not they'll actually like it or not. If you'll look at the Spore thread right next to this one, you might notice that games do not always live up to hype, negative or positive.
EDIT: Australia sucks.

Trust me, us Australians we're pissed off at that. Most people I know are just going to import from the UK so we can have it uncensored.
Honestly I really don't mind them getting rid fo the turn based combat, was never a fan of it really. The rest though, well guess I'll just wait to see when the games released.

Yeah, see there's a flaw in your plan: all versions of Fallout 3 will be identically censored when the game is released in October. all versions

all versions of Fallout 3 will be identically censored when the game is released in October. Well... I don't feel that optimistic now.
