I remember this adventure game, where you were trying to kill a typical adventure game character. The guy would take chickens out of his pants and throw them at your piranhas, or have magical spells to dodge your traps, and somehow pick his way through every lock you throw at him. It ended up as a really good puzzle game. To beat him, you'd have to watch how he uses his items and try to get him to use them in the wrong order.

Imagine a game where you invade an area instead of defending it by strategically placing towers (Tower Defense opposite) where you strategize enemy troops.. Anyone encountered such a game?

Gratuitous Tank Battles.

What about a fighting game where hitting the opponent make you lose? Huh?

wait there is more, it's on an hazard filled arena much like smash bros hottest level, so you can try to suicide you to win, except the opponent would try to suicide himself first AND save you from suicide to win

The spanish developed the best fencing school in XVII century Europe based around the restriction of not killing your rival, but disarming him and making him surrender. Murder was not justified, so they developed a set of moves that could lead to death only if their opponent 'killed himself', meaning he didnt leave any other option. So it's not nearly as bizarre as it sounds

They did this because they were strong catholic christian believers, and the 10 commandments clearly state 'Thou shalt not kill'. God didn't want them to hurt anyone so they tried to make the opponent surrender. It didn't work out a lot of the time, but in their view that was their opponent's will.

www.kongregate.com/games/Rete/villainous

This is exactly what OP is talking about. The game looks pretty much like your typical fantasy TD, but you are the attacker. You have a number of waves within which to destroy the town, each wave can contain a number of units and your role is choosing the right mix and order of monsters.
It's not very good.

That would be Lock & Key. Fun one, that.
