Hey guys, today, I am presenting you a game I have been working on for the past few weeks. As you would have probably imagined, the game is named PauZ (pronounced pawz). It stands for Platform Action Puzzle.

The title is a perfect reflection of the game's contents. Although I do not want to reveal too much about the game and it's story yet, I can tell you the simple concept. You are a character without colors in a world without colors. The only colors your character has ever seen are in the sky and on his ennemies, you will be on a quest to find out how the world has lost it's colors Smiley. The ending of the game will contain a shocking, but rather interesting revelation.

So there will be two demos released, one today and another one at Christmas, I am hoping to be able to release the final game in March 2013. So here is the demo, and a screenshot Wink

Can you tell me wether you like it or not? What you like or don't like about it? What I should change, should I even keep making it?

I tried it out, I got to the first area with enemies and it was immediately difficult to avoid them all coming out of the door.  They were also hard to see and hidden by the foreground objects.  Not sure why you put something like that so early in the game.

The enemy graphics also looked corrupted, don't know if this was intentional or not, but they definitely did not fit the rest of the game's art style.

Also, if I jump up under the platform with the ladder, the character starts spazzing out.

My opinion is, the gameplay is too short to tell whether I like the game or not. Ok you have everything working, but those are only the basics of an action game. The only comment I can give is you need to add more to make it stands out.

When I jumped in the first room, I went really high very quickly (about 2/3 of the way up the screen) but then fall rather slowly. I didn't even need to use the ladder because I could jump so high, so I'm guessing this is a bug?

Then at some point in the second room the jump became much smaller, making it very difficult to jump over the enemies. This was exacerbated by the very harsh collision detection which killed me before I actually touched the enemies.

The frame rate seemed fine, and I didn't notice any variation in it.

Specs for this computer are:
 Windows 7 Profesional 64bit
 4GB of RAM
 AMD Phenom II X2 555 @ 3.2GHz
 NVIDIA GeForce 9800 GT

This is really weird, did you try the newest version of this game? When did you download the demo? Have you tried restarting it or redownloading it?

I downloaded just before I posted the first time.

I just tried re-downloading (and restarted the computer) and it's still got exactly the same broken jump.

Oh, one other thing about this computer is that it's got 2 monitors, just in case that makes any difference.

Man I don't know, I have similar specs, I know other people with lower and higher specs, and it worked fine on every other computer. I'll have to look into it.
