I think the dark green at the bottom of the grass sprites should be closer to (if not match) the green of the ground texture so they appear to be more seamless.

That would be my fault. The last thing I did was finish up walking animations for the new dwarves, and I haven't gotten around to finishing replacing all the old art assets. BleakProspects actually drew the separate blades of grass, which I guess I'll have to replace too.

I've been kind of busy lately, but I should be able to get back to work on tiles soon.

Do you think you'll add some anti-aliasing option, like modern 3D games do?

It's actually a much more complicated simulation than Minecraft. It is closer to the Dwarf Fortress water. There is finite water which flows around and can evaporate. Water is also not a kind of block but rather can be present in any block type.

Wouldn't it be possible to simplify it for large/stable bodies of water that are connected to:
the border of the world -> the ocean -> an infinite source of water?

this was kinda how it worked in minecraft for a little bit, when finite water was first being implemented. it was balls.

Was working on making my terrain generation more efficient, and ended up with a pretty cool looking bug:

That is all.

I'd also like to make clear that those ores and tufts of grass are not mine; we're still using the graphics from the minecraft texture pack for those. Don't wanna be labeled as thieves, now!

New resource sprites (rocks, dirt, gold and 'mana crystal'). And new grass.

EDIT: Everything in this screenshot is original artwork! We're getting there.

There is a screen-space bloom effect. The crystal is set to not be lit by the sun or shadows. This makes it brighterthan everything else, hence causing it to glow.

Looking good! Really good!
I'd suggest you raise the planks a bit above the ground, right now they have zero thickness which looks odd with the grass/dirt wall..
