I just made an account after lurking for a while, and now, every couple minutes, a new topic appears and the forum board icons start bouncing. This is annoying. How do I stop it?

Means you haven't looked at that forum since a new post, if its gray it means you have. So it's actually very useful. However, unfortunately if it has subforums you have to check those too to make it gray again.

Double click on it and it greys out if you select to mark all as read.

I don't want to have to mark as unread every single time, and I won't read all the posts. Is there no way of setting preferences?

If the bouncing annoys you, just hit ESC to stop the gif animation.

That doesn't work in Chrome, for example.

But you could always block the image with some kind of adblocking thing!

Oh, I thought that was standard in all browsers. Switch to Firefox, then! Tongue
