PITIRI

Gameplay Video

platformer with an interesting style.

Quote from: the project page
Pitiri is gonna be a Jump n Run game
with main focus on physics (loads of phys-riddles, traps and stuff) and
some adventure / rpg elements.

Its all about a little creature/guy, that can transform into 3
(more to come) different elemental forms:

The main character can talk with others and jump.
The bubblefish can float with the wind (so you can get from
one cliff to the next for example)

and the tonball is very heavy, can break through walls and sinks
like a stone in water.

I bumped into a game on the Daily Click called Duel Toys 2 and it actually seems cool. A bunch of fighting characters from other games are in it, but Saturday Morning Cartoon versions of them really...

The game engine looks pretty solid too...

Apparently though there is a game on his site already called Duel Toys 2 but the art is a much lower resolution than what is shown in this video.

Video of it in action: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QY9xbGaG3PE

The amount of animations involved seems pretty crazy.

Looks like it's based off of that one Treasure game. I can' t remember what it's called, but it had characters rendered in that style- in fact, that may be one of them. Looks like fun, though.

Oh, you mean the one that was like Super Smash Bros for the Genesis? I can't remember the name right now...

The crayon-on-paper style reminds me of Final Fantasy Fables: Chocobo Tales. ^_^
It seems like that background could have been done in a better way, though. It looks too busy.

Maybe I should try, you know, playing it. =P

Rakugaki Showtime, a Japan-only game on the Playstation.
Yukiwo was one of the main characters.

That would look cool if it didn't flat out use the Rakugaki Showtime sprites. : (

Wormux

the gameplay of hedgewars comes pretty close to the worms.
the gameplay of wormux is different...anyways its also a good game.
but i personally prefer hedgewars.

Wootman
24 MB
http://gmc.yoyogames.com/index.php?showtopic=393858
Gameplay Video

i discovered today a nice little game called wootman which is in the vein of mega man.
it has nice graphics, fine controls and it has also a coop mode.

beside the standard shooting you can also double jump, slide and activate a shield.

even though this game is somewhat finished i hope that it will be worked on in the future...
edit: a sequel is in the making.

i found it pretty enjoyable and therefore i made a little video to showcase a few minutes of the actual gameplay.

Spectrum Shooter
http://gmc.yoyogames.com/index.php?showtopic=434167
Gameplay Trailer

authors description:
"A Music-Based space-shooter with player-inputted music. It varies intensity in realtime according to the wavelengths and peaks of the music. This will control the spawn rate, enemy shooting, background scrolling, and difficulty. Various features like a shop and the upgrade system have already been added. Future major additions will be added."

the music doesnt fitted as good with the actual gameplay as i expected... but well, its still in development and hopefully it will match better in the later releases...

beside that the vertical shooter itself plays pretty smoothly and is quite enjoyable.

edit: seems like that some tracks work better than others...
