Crystal Cubes 1.01
14 MB (installer)
http://www.nzlab.dk/Productions/productions.htm
Gameplay Video

a pretty good looking tetris clone with a nice 3d engine and fine sound effects.
every time you finish a line, the cubes are falling out towards the camera.
according to the developer it needs a fairly good graphics card (geforce 6600 and above...)

CONTROLS:
Arrowkeys: control the brick

SHIFT: turn brick opposite direction
'F'  : toggle frame buffer blurring
'B'  : toggle bloom effect
'L'  : toggle shadows
'M'  : toggle mirrors
F2   : toggle FPS counter
F3/F4: decrease/increase floating cam movements
F6   : toggle frame latency (only for debug)
SPACE: randomize light
PAUSE: Pause the game ( this is cheating, you know!)

Also, at any time, you can use the mouse to move the camera.

arena shooter goodness with online scores.
it has different levels, weapons and characters and an interesting graphical style.
also: a strong helmet as a strategic element and gamepad support.

Final Legacy
http://www.create-games.com/project.asp?view=main&id=1583

An action/rpg/platformer in the vein of castlevania.
Currently in very early development with only 2 mockups to showcase...
but i think it has good potential.

Super Boost Force
http://www.create-games.com/project.asp?view=main&id=1405
Gameplay Video

a very nice looking top down racer with similarities to GeneRally.

"Super Boost Force is a futuristic racing game featuring 16 tracks and 5 game modes including online multiplayer. You can even customise your craft componants and colours!"

(captured the picture from the youtube video...therefore its kind of blurry)

Soldat
http://www.soldat.pl/en/
Gameplay Video

version 1.5 of the awesome 2d multiplayer shooter was released lately.
(if you havent played it yet: think of worms in realtime mixed with
fast paced fps action styled gameplay...)
i also recommend teeworlds which has similar gameplay.

info:
well i know... its no real freeware game in the classical sense. but
its also no real shareware game either cause you can play and enjoy
it fully without paying anything. but for a few bucks you can also
support the developer and get some extra stuff like higher resolution
 and mp3 support etc...

Bitfighter
http://www.bitfighter.org/
current version is alpha 0.11 (win, mac, linux)

multiplayer shooter with fine vector graphics and smooth controls.
havent tested an actual match yet, cause there werent any other players online yet.
(and there arent any cpu enemies, its a multiplayer only game)

"Bitfighter is a free multi-player 2-D space combat game with Robotron-like controls.
It's a team-based strategy game featuring retro vector graphics and customizable ships.
 It's fast, fun, and frenetic."

today the developer of gungirl2 mentioned that all the former music composers have left his project...

since this project is very promising it would be a shame when there would be no proper music.
so if any music composer has free capacities and would like to contribute to this game it would be a pretty good thing.

here is the mentioned thread

yeah, he himself entitled those screenshots as "fake screens" to only give an actual idea of what he wants the game to look like (if i understood it correctly)

spotted this platformer with a great sense of retro feeling on indiegames blog...
since it is made by terry im pretty sure that this one will be pretty good.

Bugs (working title)
http://louisferina.com/blogs/
few seconds of ingame shooting footage

Louis Ferina (developer of the canceled platform shooter mini mercs
and the zombie arena shooter zombies is working on a new promising project.
and this game looks really impressive!
platform shooter + 360 ° mouse aiming + polished graphics + smooth engine + rpg elements = good times.

Quote
I've been working on a new indie game for awhile now.  It's gone through a bunch of graphical overhauls and redesigns but I think I've finally settled on a style and genre.  It's an action shooter with some RPG and platforming elements.  It's still in the early stages but I'm making some good progress.  Here are the first shots of it.
