last.FM is the best. My current faves:

1)Indie/Brit Rock
2)French (anything, mainly jazz)
3) Electro-House (when things get serious)
4) Chiptunes/Synthpop

Led Zeppelin
Pink Floyd
The Beatles
Cream
The Police

Mozart
(Mainly just these two for some reason)

Jazz(Yep):
Wes Montgomery
John Coltrane
Lee Morgan
Miles Davis
(a whole lot of others)

OST's:

Kingdom of Hearts
Super Meat Boy
Portal 2(not as much anymore - I think i got bored of hearing the same thing looped over and over)
Super Crate Box

I'm an awful programmer, but I listen to a lot of Aphex Twin/IDM. If anyone has seen Grandma's Boy, the Windowlicker loop JP has of just the fierce bass. I loop that.

Psytrance all the way.  Fast pace, constant rhythm, and no distracting vocals.  It puts me in the zone and doesn't drop me Smiley.

I usually don't listen to anything while I code but this is surprisingly uplifting:

Usually I don't listen to anything, but when I do, it's Jazz or something I've heard 1000 times before.

try silence, you'll improve.

I've got this book at home (Animator Survival Kit) with this:

Quote
Listening to audio while you work

When he was just starting out as an animator at Disney, Richard Williams once asked the legendary Milt Kahl (chief animator on the Jungle Book) this question…

since Jungle book's animations aint' bad  Corny Laugh
and programming is not exactly much easier then animating, I conclude this.
listen to silence, concentrate, work.

Some ambient electronic music or maybe classical. Atm it's mostly the music from Braid and the music from Fez.
