ARGHHH

RED AND WHITE FONT ON A BLACK BACKGROUND DOES NOT DO FRIENDLY THINGS TO YOUR EYES

Although, it was probably arranged that way to symbolize the anguish his soul feels at the oppression of his magnum opus.

BUT ITS STILL IRRITATING AS FUCK

So this is what, day 25 of 100?

I wonder how much more of this it'll take before the mainstream blogs just stop covering it and his hitrate drops.

I know if I wanted to convince a multinational corporation that my small fledgling company should be trusted with intellectual property, distribution authority and expensive tools the way to do it is to lock myself in a room and rage out (seriously or not) against invisible conspiracies.

Dude, his latest news post talks about how he's better than the Wright Brothers because they just cribbed their work off of someone else. He did his work individually, which makes him superior to Miyamoto.

That's hilarious, in a cringy sort of way. If he had been gentler about forcing his game upon Nintendo, he might have had a better chance.

Haha!

Wow. This just keeps getting better and better. I really hope I can get the chance to play this once (just release it on PC, already, jeez). There's literally no chance his game is as good as he claims. And if it really is the greatest game ever, noone can really say so, 'cause he's an obnoxious douchebag. Really looking forward to the inevitable backlash, when the internet decends upon him like the angry, spiteful machine it is.  Kiss

I'm kinda hoping he's just the biggest troll in internet history, it's really the only way I can see this ending well for him.

Yeah, it's not even as though no man has made a great game alone in his room by 25. Eric Chahi was around twenty five when he made the best game ever. Jordan Mechner was 25 when he made Prince of Persia, all by himself.

If I'm not mistaken, most of the entries in the Touhou series was all just by one guy.

And he's got a huge fanbase.

Listen to this pearl of wisdom!

Quote
Why would Nintendo need to do this? They're "printing money," aren't they?
Nintendo reportedly only makes $6 per Wii unit sold, and believe it or not- third party Wii sales are not satisfactory!
The highest selling games are all by Nintendo themselves- this is fine for a software company, but not for a console manufacturer.
It's the third party sales that generate the profit Nintendo needs to stay afloat!

Reading his sight is hilarious, just because he's so deranged. It's like he actually thinks that the world will start bending to his will and actually make all the things he says true. I'm kind of shocked that he believes the things he says. In general, though, I have to hate anybody who tries to say there are too many first-party Nintendo games.

Also:
Eric Chahi was around twenty five when he made the best game ever.
What justification are you using for this claim?

Silly Jinky Jonk, an article about someone saying that they liked a game does not make it the best game ever. You've currently got four people (including yourself) backing up your claim. That hardly makes something the "best ever".

I just think that "best game ever" is an incredibly subjective term generally reserved for people who are recklessly ignorant.  Not everybody follows your own criteria for judging games. I think it could be argued with fair ease that Oddworld: Abes Odyssey is better than Out of this World, because it has similar yet far deeper gameplay elements, an engrossing story, more enriching environments, and well-done ambient music.

Obviously it is incredibly subjective. The actionbutton.net guys give a rationale for it being the best that I found fairly compelling. Anyway, the point for our purposes here is that various people (including Hideo Kojima) thought that it was a superb, influential game, and it was written by a lone 25-year-old.

That's better. Superb, excellent, influential, and most other adjectives are acceptable. "Best game ever" just ticks me off.

Bob was relatively sane for his early news posts. It's kind of irritating to see him flipping out, when he was doing relatively fine earlier on. I think he needs to figure out that Nintendo has to be careful right now, what with the recession and all, and it can't just pick up unproven games right now.

Still, I figure Nintendo should have at least sent a rejection letter. I feel like Bob might not be telling all of the story. It's one thing to decide not to take a project. It's another to totally ignore the project.

At the beginning of this thing, there was maybe an iota of a chance that things could turn out okay, with some kind of compromise and smiles all around. Now? This is going to end horribly. Front page news horribly. And it's like you wanna just spite the guy for being such a pompous d-bag.

On a related note, any idea how this guy remains financially solvent? A hundred days in a locked room doesn't translate into bills and rent.

Ah, but what about 100 days in a locked room at your parents house? That's a different story!

He's not gonna make 100 days.  Hell, I'm beginning to doubt he'll LIVE through the rest of the 100 days.  He's just lost it, completely insane at this point.

I just visited his site...

Quote
There is nobody like me. I have created the entire game, start to finish.
I am far better than Miyamoto, Itoi, Kojima, Carmack, and Wright COMBINED.
NONE of these "designers" could create the entire thing if their lives depended on it!
They rely on the assistance of others- and take all the credit. They don't even deserve their titles! I have bested them all by far.

"bob's game" is a game by ONE PERSON, and it's one of the GREATEST GAMES EVER MADE- if not THE BEST.
I stand alone on a mountain no other has even dared to climb. I have swam across the ocean only cruise ships could cross.
I have walked through the desert of no return. I have stepped in the footprints of none, a path never taken.
I have MADE HISTORY, and history cannot be undone. It's too late, Nintendo.

No man has ever accomplished what I have accomplished at 25 years old- it's no wonder you fear accepting this truth!
My work has humiliated your teams of engineers. One young man- singlehandedly- has made their lifetime of work seem like child's play.
How can they possibly compete with such overwhelming skill? It's not even fair, is it? That's too bad, Nintendo. I'm real, and I'm here.
You can't ignore me forever. I AM RIGHT, AND IT WILL WORK.

Yeah, it seems like a pretty good top-down rpg. I have never really liked those... I would never have guessed that it would take
AN ALMIGHTY GODto make one Shocked

Wait, if he is so divine, why should I be impressed? Huh?

Well, whatever, as I said I have never really liked rpg:s. Prolly won't play it Shrug

Oh this happening at his parents' house would add an entire new dimension.

I can see his mum just fretting in a corner, hands trembling over a knit sock she'll never finish

:D

One thing, if he doesn't want any money out of it, why don't he release it for the PC? And also, if he wants nintendo to do this for him, why does he write so much bad stuff about them?

He needs needs to grow up, and get is ass outta' his ears.
Ok, he made a game, some might say it's good, great, hell even amazing. But that is no excuse to  act like a complete, egotistical maniac, all those developers up there? Great. They're great because they're imaginative, and think big, wonderful ideas!
So what if they can't do all the work themselves, the others are for making and realizing the great ideas they come up with.

This guy? He's doing all the work, and it appears this is just him gloating as if he was the world's most amazing game developer. But what he hasn't realized is that all those people the big developers use are EXPERTS. He can't fine tune everything as well as the proffesionals, not to say he can't improve, or even become as good as them!

Dare I repeat, EXPERTS. They take pride in their work, and keep working at it! The composers, artists, developers, designers, modelers, pixel artists, they do amazing work. Especially with some of their most famous work.

Miyamoto for example. Super Mario Galaxy, a weird idea, but with the help of the others, it came out amazing, the graphics held a unique style, even though all he and the team worked with was the Wii, and we all know it is not the most graphics capable gaming console out there. But that is no excuse not to work well with it! The soundtrack, also amazing, especially considering it's all orchestrated. The enviroments are wonderful, little planetoids holding their own unique feel, filled with the monsters we've all come to know and love. And sometimes hate.

In short, this guy is being a dick.
And yes, I know I'm a dick for posting this, but what he said was disgusting to read.
