I think most of us know about dynamic soundtracks where the track will change when different events take place or when the character moves to different environments.

I've taken interest in sort of a different kind of "dynamic" music where there's only one track, but the mood of the track changes halfway through to match the player's experience.

Take a boss fight for instance:

When a boss first shows up you have no idea what you're up against.  You're not familiar with it's attacks and it's probably one of the most difficult challenges you've faced so far so for the first part of the fight you'll probably just be focused on surviving.

However, once you start recognizing the boss's patterns and have become more familiar with the boss, you start to go on the offensive and you suddenly have the upper hand, and so the music would mimic this to change from being frightening to more heroic.

I think that this song is a great example of this:
