the WSJ wrote an sweet article on thatgamecompany (with a sentence or two about Jonathon Blow and Jason Rohrer) right hyur.

not bad, i love the 70s cinema comparison they draw.

the article's obviously a little narrow and kinda shallow, but it's not like the average WSJ reader's played a game since Pong, so.

More exposure is certainly a good thing, and the article isn't that bad for a mainstream out of touch one.

I love this quote from an EA vice president; he's basically admitting how we're one up on them:
Quote
The thing about the indie gaming community -- it's truly experimental. It's about trying new gaming mechanics and embracing new platforms," says Robert Nashak, a vice president for Electronic Arts. "As new platforms emerge, it'll be indie game teams that take advantage of them.

This quote from a senior designer at Sony is also quite priceless:
Quote
The next Shigeru Miyamoto [creator of Super Mario Bros.] is going to come out of independent games and not through the traditional route," says Rusty Buchert, senior producer for Sony's Santa Monica studios. "Working on big teams is just lather, rinse, repeat. It sucks the creativity.
