It seems like all the Interplay games are $6 and the Codemasters games $10. I feel strangely vitriolic toward Codemasters for that, then I realise that $10 is still great value.

Is that the Jagged Alliance 2 expansion? Does it include the original campaign? Or is that just a subtitle that I never before noticed.

Also, SHOGO is awesome. If it had come out a few months earlier it might not have been entirely over shadowed by Half-Life.
Wikipedia says that "Unfinished Business" is the last stand-alone JA2 expansion which was released. At least on the GoG.com board somebody said that it's the worst JA2 "episode", though still great.
I can't wait to finally play JA2, as so far I've only enjoyed some other games like it (e.g. X-Com: UFO Defense, Silent Storm), but never got to play the "true king" :D I guess I rather wait for the original, though.

And Shogo, huh. I don't think I've ever heard of it and judging from the screenshots I assumed there's a good reason why I didn't. Shame on me Smiley

At the moment the $10 games are just newer than the rest, I guess that's why they chose a higher price tag.

Oh and I'd just like to emphasize again that Hostile Waters is great. It's got flaws, but even more things which still astonish me nowadays. I guess it will still take me a good while to get through the campaign. Nice deal Smiley

I agree  :D I am very happy with all the prices though, really good deals. Although, I already do own the majority of popular games that are on the site, but this is good for filling in the gaps  Tongue

It's a stand-alone expansion that does not include the original campaign. I used to have it, but the CD broke :| I quite liked it. I think it more or less lacks the strategy side of proper Jagged Alliance 2 and is a rather linear series of tactical missions.

Jagged Alliance 2 Gold is available at Steam, by the by. According to Wikipedia it includes Unfinished Business, so I apparently still have Unfinished Business. Hurrah. Also according to Wikipedia, Gold means borked as far as Jagged Alliance 2 is concerned :\

Shogo and System Shock 2 were the two 90s games I was most unhappy to miss out on.

Kingpin: Life of Crime - $5.99

Was this any good?  I remember it getting a lot of hype right up until it was released, about how it was going to be revolutionary and an advancement of the artform.  And then it kind of disappeared.  It seemed to be about grey people hitting one another with pipes.

I dunno. I played it when I was younger and I thought it was awesome. You could set people on fire, and they'd run and scream!

I was lucky enough to get in to the beta, so I've bought myself Fallout 1+2, Freespace and the expansion, Sacrifice, Giants: Citizen Kabuto and MDK. Currently i'm playing through Citizen Kabuto and loving it. So many gaming classics, so little time!

Anybody else get in to the beta? Any reccomendations from a more experienced 90s gamer?

Wow, sacrifice. Have that in the house somewhere, remember seeing that on tv and thinking it looked awesome. It is, not to a 6 year old kid though, rotten hard. Played this for weeks last year, trying out every god in it

Damnit, I always thought Giants was a creative but mindless blast-everything game, more in the likes of Armed & Dangerous. Now I actually found out that it's a creative but mindless blast-everything game with strategy elements! I'm really surprised how little I know about this game, I guess I've only ever seen screenshots of it. I think I know which other game I'll purchase after having finished Hostile Waters. And the other 10 games I still need to play. Then I'll buy it!

Oh yeah Kingpin, that game with Cypress Hill.

It's pretty ugly and it's very much a game you can just set your mind on autopilot too, since it's still just a space dungeon only with an art deco finish. All the characters in the game are buff as shit even the bitches, there's no weedy stick-thin dudes to ice here. It's almost like Quake or Unreal Tournament 2004, like, before UT2K4. On top of that there's that patented "Quake 2 model wobble" on everything which is a nitpick but it looks amusing in cutscenes, like everyone has cussed a layer of clothes off and they are out in the cold with their horrible skin conditions. Yeah swearing, lots and lots of fucking swearing. God. Damn.

Oh but it has the best flamethrower, like, ever. If you really like to set virtual people on fire and your friends who play as virtual people in the mode where you can play with your friends you should totally buy it for that price. Go for it man, cast all the shit I said to the back of your mind because it's actually a really fun game to play through once and by then you would have got your money's worth anyway.

And trust me it's a fuckton better than 50 Cent Bulletproof, the other game which has rappers in it.
