Well that's insulting. So basically if people don't like your game it's because they only play "new" games and don't like to think too hard?

Honest question: Have you played Castlevanias 1 and 3 for NES?

I'm crappy at platformers but this game got really nice controls. Took a bit to get used to but it's good. Only downside to the demo right now is that the game crashes without fail when I reach more than 1000g. I really wanted that Iron Armor but for now I can't have it  Cry

It's real nice so far though and I will, with great anticipation, wait for the release. (or the next demo)

I think that having what you have equipped show on your character, would be awesome.

Looks fantastic. Reminds me of my old amiga days. Particularly Ruff 'N' Tumble. Great stuff!

That would take a lot of work.

Now that we have backers to keep informed, we'll probably be posting here way less unfortunately. If you guys would like to stay in the loop for the rest of development, I'd suggest becoming a backer Wink

Bats are not random.
Bats are not random.
Bats are not random.

If someone makes a video where they are consistently hitting the bats on swoop every time, I will shut up. :p

(Note, without being careful, I took out 32 bats and was only hit by 4, so basically that was 88% of all bats I faced killed without getting hit. You'll notice every other time I got hit was either because I was rushing, fighting other enemies, or just bad timing. Again, without being careful at all. And I suck at platformers in general. And today was the first day I've ever played this. And I spent far more time making this video than actually playing it.)

Congratulations, this game is amazing. Looking very forward to it when it is fully released.

Wow, that video actually swayed me on this game. The feeling I got was very much like Shadow of the Beast 1 or 2 or Barbarian 1 or 2 (the Psygnosis version).

When I first saw the game, I expected a more of a Wonderboy in Monsterland sort of experience and critiqued it accordingly (too stiff animations and not smooth enough movement), but in this new context, everything works!

Just a tech question

How much rooms you use to generate a floor ?

Ooooh, I like this question, Whiteclaws. I think I'll start studying that today, if you don't get a straight answer from James.

Here's the formula for the demo:

Code:
int roomsMin = 6 + (floor * 3);

I'm glad!

Let me just say that even as a demo, to me as an avid gamer, it feels perfect. I don't think I'd change anything about how the controls feel or how the combat is. It's a perfect mix of Arcade and RPG and I think that it will only get exponentially better from here. I haven't gotten this vocally excited about an indie game in awhile. Except maybe Secrets of Grindea, but two different things. Chasm is and will be phenomenal.
