Here's a screenshot of the tavern. What's changed since the last mockup: - Mountain placement
- Universal palette
- Tree placement in foreground
- Perspective on buildings
- Snow on ground
- Crates

Was taking a little break but decided to work on the snow a bit. Here's a GIF at half framerate (not as smooth as the real thing).. Edit: I thought that was pretty cool so I did 2 more (glowing blue means Rare item btw)..

Happy New Year! Took a little break yesterday, but we've still been busy as usual. First, Tony's been working on the mine entrance (also some palette updates), thought this looked awesome. I've been busy working on NPC interactions. Decided to do trading a bit like Elder Scrolls where every NPC can buy/sell, but are only interested in certain items. I'll be detailing that out soon, but it's mostly planned now. The Buy and Sell menus work now, but they're very rough, so I'll be doing some work on those before showing them off. Here's the latest main interaction menu (temporary blacksmith .

Tony's been working hard on the tileset for the Mines (no more pink bathroom tiles!). Here's a work-in-progress shot with his new treasure chest as well.

Great so far! One thing with the pose, it looks like he's sticking his hips forward and his body is in a ) shape rather than more of a vertical line. Does Tony have any posts about his colours, methods, etc..?

@happymonster: I don't have any posts about my color choosing, but I guess I could make one if you're interested!
Thanks to everyone for the lovely feedback.

I agree with happymonster, the pose is kind of forced right now. And please, make that post! Anyway, this is looking great.

I like the pose. It reminds me of the classic hero-posing-for-the-camera from old comics.

I like the pose a lot as well, it doesn't feel unnatural in a wrong sense, plus it makes the hero look like he has no fear and a whole lot of self-confidence.
I'd definitely ♥ a post about the art

Does Tony have any posts about his colours, methods, etc..? People's spines curve that way when they're standing. This is still an exaggeration, but it fits the smaller scale.

I've been playing around with the particles a bit. They now perfectly recreate the object before exploding into hundreds of pieces. Here's an animation showing that (at about half-framerate though ), and Tony's new bangin' treasure chest.

I think you should use larger chunks rather than just pixels- right now it looks like it's bursting into spiders or something.
