Haha, it wasn't until your summary that I noticed "100% free games" and "100% profits to developers"... Yeah, 100% of 0 is 0. Whoo!
And I'm still amused that they call it "oh-tahn" when the name clearly comes from 'autonomous' and should be pronounced 'ah-tahn'.

It is also a glorified cellphone games player. I mean, they're good timewasters to play on mobile devices, but there's hardly any point in playing them on a big screen television. Besides, there are android emulators that already allow you to do what the Ouya does, in your computer.

I like how developers can earn 100% revenue from 100% free games.
Perfect!

I can't believe this isn't a joke or an April Fools. It's just mind-bogglingly dumb -- even for a scam!

It looks like a complete parody of unreasonable Kickstarters in general and Ouya in specific. It's oddly expansive for a parody, though...

I doubt it's intended as a joke or parody. They charge donators credit cards when they donate and not if they hit the target. It's an outright con, they even call it a Kickstarter project on several occasions to try and make it sound legitimate. And according to that Reddit thread the guy behind this, Derrick Samuels, has also been found guilty of running other scams before.

Part of me can't help but think that people that are stupid enough to fall for something so outrageously dumb deserve to be scammed...

gamasutra press articlepff don't they research the articles they place?, I thought it was a more respectable website before.. for example this is their FAQ (quite hilarious) http://www.otonx.com/pages/faqyou want to know what "The system is driven by artificial intelligence powered by its Game Creation Engine" looks like ? but beware " it can be used for much more. Its creative engine can design new and exciting games for the educational, religious, business and medical community. During surgery a doctor can use motion and voice as the video is projected on a wall, and OTON can create several different analyses during surgery to support the medical staff. OTON can re-create for churches and schools different events in history to educate children, and for businesses it can serve as a low cost presentation device for large meetings. These are just some of the benefits with many more coming soon." you want to know what 3 Oton v2.0 will look like ?? EXTERRMINATE EXTERRMINATE EXTERRMINATE EXTERRMINATE

It's a press release, not a feature nor a news, they are a platform now with blog etc, This is pretty much like the "petite annonce" in news paper, everybody can put something in that place.
