Trailer

Hey I was sort of held up getting a license for my PSP-Vita so during my downtime I decided to spend some time with Flixel again. Such a fun library to use.

Anyways this game is a love letter to the old arcade shooting gallery type games like Nam 1975 and that cowboy game I can't remember the name of.

I'm trying to get this game done for the IndieGoodbye deadline of December 21. It's gonna be tight, I'm gonna try to wake up early the next 10 days and get work done before my job. I have night school so early morning is really the only option.

There's currently some z-sorting issues, those I'll be fixing next. There is currently only one level and once its complete it goes nowhere.

Ok big update. I implemented almost all the suggestions and the game is a lot more fun. The only one I didnt add was the lifebar. I tried it out but I ran into some issues with bullet cleanup and I kind of liked it better with the lives. I'll use some better animation and some tweaks to make it more effective.

anyways here's the changelog :

Prop system
New art
HUD
Reloading on weapons
Main menu
Credits menu
Instructions menu
Dash graphics
Gameplay statistics
Scoring and combo system
Water ninjas!
Gunboat enemy
Enemy lifebars
New weapons sounds (Thanks Vinne from Firearms-Source! )
Dash meter
Can now dash with S key
Level 2
Level 3
Level 4
Endgame/Startgame logic

Here's a screen :

And here's a play link. I've also updated the first post:

Thanks man Smiley

Game is now released!

I'll be doing some balance and adding a couple sounds over the weekend (reload, ninja deaths) but I'm using mochi so  that will be live-updated in.

You can play it here Smiley

Reminds me of an old NES game I used to play with a childhood friend called CABAL. It was pretty fun. Once I'm able to try out your game, I'll leave some feedback. I just wanted to mention my nostalgia, I guess Smiley

Ah cool, I just checked out CABAL on youtube. I have never played it but was really surprised that Rare was involved in its development. They seem to have done everything :D

It was definitely a similar gameplay style I was going for. NAM 1875 was the main influence though.

Also apparently I just got picked up on indiegames.com!
