Does Natural Selection 2 still count as indie?
Red Rogue and Teleglitch are one of the finest games I watched develop here.

Lone Survivor
Waking Mars
Street Figher X Mega Man

I'm sure Hotline Miami would've been on the list if I'd had the opportunity to play it yet.

Not to mention the PC port of Superbrothers: Sword & Sorcery EP.

Man, lots of great stuff this year. Here's the highlights:

La Mulana Remake
Avernum: Escape from the Pit
Euro Truck Simulator 2
Frog Fractions
Miner Wars 2081
The Sea Will Claim Everything
Resonance
Eador Genesis
Inquisitor
Zineth
Tiny & Big

and that's the lot! Some good stuff in there, as anyone would agree I think.

Spelunky XBLA wasn't last year? Then factor that in, tops.

Also, does Wrath of the Lamb count, since it's an expansion to a game, and not necessarily the game itself? If so, that too; and post-hardmode Terraria at that.

expansions can count i guess, as long as they are significant expansion with a lot of new game content (like brood war was) and not small dlc things like a few extra levels or something. i haven't played that particular expansion so i'll leave how significant it was to your judgement

My vote: Intrusion 2

Probably the most fun I've had with an indie (or AAA) game all year.

I'll add FTL as my second choice.
