An effect I wouldn't expect I'd be coding for a visual novel... 0_o

I always wish for someone to experiment with 3D vsiual novel for the flexibility it offer (both prerendered deffered buffer and full 3D) ...

... but when I see your art I know it won't be you  Kiss

Then you should check Wispfire's Herald. Something tells me you'll like it a lot. Wink

It's been crazy three years, but the game is finally DONE, and we're starting the final testing round! Here's more info, in case you'd like to help.

Honestly, it still feels completely unreal to me. I have never spent this much time on a single project before. o_0

After Cinders I knew what to expect, so it's a different kind of problem, but I'm not really ready to talk about it yet (at least publicly). I'll probably publish some postmortem once the release craze settles.

Aaaaand... it's done & tested. Feels fucking unbelievable!  Shocked

We just announced the release date for pre-order owners (the actual solstice!) as well as Collector's Edition stuff.

Just look at them goodies!

Winter solstice is tonight, which seems like the perfect moment to send the finished game to pre-order owners.

Excitement. Anxiety. Cool movie-style posters.  Epileptic

But yours is a cool game as well!

It's out, you guys!  Tears of Joy

I admit it it was a long and bumpy road for us, probably the hardest project I ever worked on, but I gotta say we’re quite proud of how it came out in the end. It's a game that represents a lot of our ideas on how games should be made, and it touches some subjects that are personally important to us, so I'm super curious to see what the reception's gonna be.

A buck or two in the wallet couldn't hurt too!

Nah, not really. But it feels great to open up an engine you've been using for 10 years and see your own game in the news feed. I wouldn't even dream about something like that in GMC days, and even now it had a surprising effect on me. Smiley
