yipee! my long time friend heath has been working on a videogame inspired album for sometime now and it was just recently released with album art made by me! this is the first time ive ever made album art and also the first commercial product ive worked on. thought id share my work with yall and give my friend a plug.
the art is comprised of three landscapes that cover two pages each. theres a front and back, the inside of the slip, and the back of the slip plus the cd tray. the music is a mix of hiphop, trance and break beats with lots of chiptune and orchestral elements. over all its got this nice melodic, adventurous atmosphere, with a great blend of digital and organic sounds. so i tried to make art that was both pixel and traditional looking, and something that captured that vast epic feeling that a lot of the songs have. i like what i ended up with, but i definitely think it could have been better. its a mixture of pixel art, scraps of photos and a lot of photoshop filters.
