I did the alpha version with two levels (intro + level I) / total of six.
I m testing atmosphere, gameplay, levels, graphic art and sound aspect.

If anyone wants to test it, please download file.

Any sugestion and critic are importants to me.

feedback : first impressions

1.the art stylye, graphics, immersion, sound aspect  - its ok.
2.the introduction/the village - positive and negative feedbacks.
- long play / ballon teleporter strange / the last zoom out not work / add smoth zoom out
- the shadow light very repetitive = boring
3. the forest / positive and negative reviews... cool atmosphere, simple platform is cool / very very boring gameplay / "the shit game" "idiot platform"
Amateur game
problems: contemplative x action play

many bugs

All feedbacks are importants,,, thanks all. This my first game, then many problems appear. Game design/level design is so dificult...rsrs

im rethinking the gameplay and some ideas with the feedback I have received.
The village will be smaller, is very long and tiring, discourages continue. Ill focus in the objectives the game and function of HUD.
The three squares HUD will be Yijis energy. Now, Yiji can eat some foods to reenergize. Yiji lose power over time.
In the center will have a symbol of action... to help in the gameplay. (read, listen, talk, low energy and depressed).
The Yijis character will be different. The weird white square not work well with the environment. Now, will be a kind of "samurai", human.
The game will focus on exploration and contemplation. The gameplay is very linear, boring and too obvious.
I'll try to open the game, not so open, but the player can choose some ways and back to solve some puzzles.
I believe in the use of sound as a basis for this exploration. Noises, whispers, effects, sound movements. Puzzles sounds...etc.. example: The howl of the wolf emits a certain sound that moves the scenery. Sound = scenario.
With traps. Different types of traps: arrows, frameworks, spikes, chains, etc,,,. The black light will be secundary.
The Forest will have 3 stages (the objective of each stage will be open the gate)- only with vibrations sounds.
Any idea is welcome.

In the previous post I described some possible changes, criticism, good things, based on feedback from version 1.0 alpha.
The main objective is to present the whole development process of a first game,,, with problems, difficulties, critics, cool things, etc,,,,and all creative process in facebook.

From the feedbacks and reflections. The Way of Yiji changes.
The main character is Oto, a samurai.
After a raid on his village, Oto was wounded with a poisoned arrow.
His wife died. Oto will have to take your child, Yiji to a Temple of Light
Oto will die, that is a fact.
Oto now have a few days to teach Yiji.

The game will be based on SOUNDESIGN. = sound image
ex1: When Oto passes at a given site, there is a specific sound when interacting with this sound, a wall disappears, appears, etc.,,, Three wolves howling enables a secret passage ...
The graphics, atmosphere, soaking continue, as well as the basic mechanics of the zoom.
The game will focus on exploration and contemplation, strengths based on feedback.
The player can control some animals to help you in gameplay.
example: Oto whispers with a butterfly, and now the player controls the butterfly that can fly and activate some mechanism. Oto need to reenergize the water with his son, and upon entering the water, the player controls a carp, you have to catch an oyster magic.
the swarm can "syntonize" the atmosphere and open passage secret, etc. .....
Every moment of pause Oto should enter another stream, the player should not stop, but try to always be in motion .... Samurai> Butterfly> Wolf> fish > Otp > Yiji,,,,,,
Any idea and help will be welcome ...

The Way of Yiji is being released along with other 8 games in a short album (Initiation).

The album reflect the production in a period of a year and a half.  The intention is to show a process more open, where holdings of jams, prototypes, tests and ideas are shown. I believe this can help us to always improve, considering that we have little time for the development of games, but it has become a wonderful hobby.

In the general we were very pleased, because many issues were evident when we have assembled games all together, making evident successes, failures, cool stuff, boring, problems and difficulties. We think that everything closes this initial cycle that began with The Way of Yiji and Flick (the game of my colleague Vinicius Sanches).

We created a "band", the Schizoid, and put them in a album as if they were the tracks of songs. A prank and, somehow, an open methodology that shows the process.

The idea is to release an album of short games every 2 years. This inaugural album called Initiation and obviously alludes to those starting this fantastic and unique universe of gaming process.
