windows'd for games that don't require mouse, which is most of the ones I play. Don't really have a reason, I just like it more.

Fullscreen, but under the condition that the game must alt+tab/ctrl+escape quickly and gracefully.

99% of the time I use fullscreen. I want the game to occupy the entire screen at all times for full immersion and focus.

I even force stretching for games with 4:3 proportions because fuck black borders, I want my whole screen, damn it, I don't really mind it stretching horizontally at all.

This is usually pretty useful when I'm far away from the screen and using my gamepad to play, so I just lie comfortably in bed and play/watch stuff at my leisure, because I have a 4-legged (previously 5-legged) chair, and over the years it's become about as comfortable as sitting on top of a bed covered in nails Hand Fork LeftWTFHand Fork Left

I play games that require a lot of note-taking, especially with metroidvanias when I use paint for maps when I have no notebook around, but even with other genres that require you to write down a hint, so I always play windowed for those.

For the few games that are simple and are immersive like Thomas Was Alone, I play fullscreen

I'm surprised about the amount of people who prefer Fullscreen to everything else.

I intend to have Fullscreen, and Maximised window options at least in my game.

Depends a lot on the game. If it's an immersive game, full screen. If it's a time waster, windowed. If it's a turn based game where I'm waiting on someone else's turn (e.g. Wesnoth, Civ), windowed.

And yeah, sometimes the resolution is low, so windowed on those.

It's kind of a surprising result.  I guess I just hear enough complaints about games not supporting windowed mode that I kinda figure it to be the common thought.

"It depends" is probably the most accurate. But more often than not, when people play a game, they want to be fully focused. For smartphone games, I'd prefer non-fullscreen, because the little pull down is not so annoying, and I'd normally want to use the phone for other things.

I tend to stick to just Windowed, I like the confined space.
Means I can click out and mess with other windows without needing to make much of a fuss.
