Hey all,

Looking for anyone who specialises in 8-bit/low tech stuff - not necessarily for a project at this stage, but wanting to look through a few portfolios.

Love it! Think Go Copter is my favourite so far.

Basically I'm looking to write a theatre piece inspired by video games, and wanting the soundtrack to be made up of 8 bit/16 bit stuff. Yet to write a word of the script but I find that listening to examples inspires me to write.

Small bump of this topic. I don't believe there are so little 8 bit specialists around here since about 50% of all indie games have chipmusic in them Tongue (rough esimate) Come on! Plug away as TS said. I'd love to hear some of your work as well :3

I'm no 8-bit specialist by far, but here's a little NES tune I made the other day, original Ricoh chip sounds with 5 channel restriction courtesy of Plogue Chipsounds.

Cheers,

Hi Ctsingy

I've done some 8bit stuff - I'll PM you with a tune I made recently, it's not been released yet so can't post it publicly unfortunately.

Sounds like an interesting concept for a theatre project, I've done quite a bit of theatre work myself.

I tried my hand at 8-bit things.

https://www.box.com/s/41srgegqdmm5aassgtsp As well as https://www.box.com/s/3lvrh929c8duwtimr530 with the use of Magical8bitplug and YMvst when I was bored.

I had some fun with making SE using those VST plugins, too x3

Thought I'd throw my proverbial hat in, the last two pieces are chiptune-ish & I personally love the aesthetic: https://soundcloud.com/showmeyourskeleton

Hey,

I've been involved with video game audio for 20 years now, and before that I was writing chiptunes on the Commodore Amiga computer.

I just released an album featuring Commodore 64's and Amigas so if you like the sound then get in touch,

Well, I generally compose in a demoscene style:

what sort of actual aesthetic are you going for other than "8-bit"? that might help you narrow down the largnumbe rof songs to look through

Hey Ctsingy33,

Most of the music I've done for games isn't pure chiptune music, but it may be something you enjoy.

Here are a handful of 'em!
