Ladies. Gentlemen. Gentleman

This game is Wizard is a kinda-sorta remake of Wizard on the C64.

Development is coming along nicely, and I'm at a point where it's fully playable. I thought I'd release a build and get some feedback. The build is for Windows. XP and Vista should both work. It should run on a moderately ok computer. (Sorry Mac people, an OS X version is coming, I promise.)

Arrow Keys: Move
Spacebar: Jump
Ctrl: Use Spell (when available)
Esc: Back to Menu
Alt+F4: Quit

It auto-saves your progress. Try and get all the treasures on all levels; that's where the real challenge lies.

All feedback welcome.

Quite enjoyable. Smiley

This kind of reminded me of my favorite Amiga games of the old, Spherical.

Man, the hours spent on rollin' that ball...

Pretty awesome puzzle-y game! Some of those levels were brilliantly asshole-ish. I've got 100% treasures in every level. I can't imagine getting 100% perfects in some of them.

Thanks for this game!
Got 100% perfects up to level 30ish.
More levels would be incredible.  I love the level design so far.

Awesome.  Good difficulty ramp and training.  Some of the later stages get keyboard-smashingly hard (in a good way).  Movement feels good, especially air jumping and double jumping.  I've been trying to get at least 100% treasure on every level...missed a couple, but I'm sure I'll get them eventually. Tongue

Minor gripe: I didn't actually notice there was a difference between 100% treasure and 100% perfect until I read Cossix's post.  Maybe this distinction could be made clearer somehow.

How do you get perfect? I've gotten the theif bonus which I assume is for those who don't get/use the keys and still finish the level, but what's this perfect thing?

100% treasures means you collected all the treasures but took damage.
100% perfect means you collected all the treasures without taking damage.

And the other thing... well that's a secret. Although, I think I should probably explain why you got it, maybe on the level complete screen. "For <doing a certain something> you have received a <secret thing>!"

Well done - good level design. I love the little tiles. And the demoscene intro is fucking rad - can't believe no one has mentioned that yet! Only thing its lacking are some SID tunes.

Ace, this is what platform games are about, a set of simple mechanics used in increasingly ingenious/challenging ways.  Smiley

Amazing game, great work! ^_^ Very charming game in general.

(for some reason I see the treasure as cats with giant heads, but I like collecting cats)

Please hurry up with the mac version, I'd like to play this on my main machine. Runs nicely on my XP laptop though.

this game is great! very well made. it was interesting, challenging AND fun! good progression, puzzles. some games that use secrets or tricks really piss me off, but i felt that you did a very good job implementing them. i look forward to the mac version!

I like the "rom hacker style" splash screen Smiley Nice little game you got there. Entertaining, simple and totaly retro. I don't have much to add Smiley

Good job!

Fun game.  Creative designs.  It was definitely on the short side though.  I liked the levels that had more than one solution the best.  I wish there were more levels where the wizard could use his magic spells, but overall it was still definitely enjoyable.
