I charge $200/hr for my graphic design work copyrights. Normally. Sans copyright I charge $40/hr.

However I find myself with extra time on my hands these days and wouldn't mind a bit of free publicity, so I'll do seven free logos here.

Prior Free Logo Threads:

http://www.quartertothree.com/game-talk/showthread.php?t=71875

http://www.telebunny.net/talkingtime/showthread.php?t=13676

Just because we're calling it a logo doesn't mean it can't be something else. Fill out this form and I'll dev your idea:

Required:

    Name of Business:

    Type of Business:

Describe your average customer in around 50 words or less:

Tell me all the places your logo is going to appear, and include a link to any website it may appear on:

What are your logo size or web banner size requirements?

Average cost to average customer of your product or service:

Describe your product or service in three descriptors (eg. "reliable" "wacky" "country-themed"):

Optional:

    Describe your ideal logo imagery:

Tell me your imaginary budget for this project (what you would have paid tells me how much work to put in):

Choose a font (describe the emotions elicited by it or provide an example of the font [camera phone img] and I'll find it):

Choose a color scheme (I may try to override you but I'm very negotiable, and if you need help with a color scheme you can provide a picture of the color(s) you want and I'll create a color scheme for you):

    Provide your own art:

Any additional information you want to give:

How to talk to me more directly:

Click this link:

Then fill out the fields:

[bot] is my proxy. If I'm near my computer and you talk to [bot] or in the channel I'll likely see it and reply.

People pay you $200 an hour to apply effects to vector text? Damn, I need to change jobs!

Sigh. I know you're a troll, but I feel compelled to give a longer answer.

Understanding and even being able to spot the tiny relationships between letters is a skill that not everyone has. My degree and training merit this high cost because I have a skill that is rare.

Imagine I accused you of ripping off Cave Story for your tiles and engine. You'd be perfectly justified in explaining how complicated making a game is. This is a similar situation.

Applying an effect that looks good to vector lettering is something that an amateur can stumble upon, yes, but when you pay me you're paying for my branding, spatial relationship expertise and years of knowledge. The project you are describing would take me 10 minutes. An amateur might take an hour. You'd probably wind up paying the amateur (in fact I insist you would) more money in the long run.

Trolls are welcome to troll and be assholes but I will respond in kind.

Alright. I spent 1 hour exactly on this. The first one was inspired by something I once saw in a music shop. The second one is color schemed to match your website. The third one came out of my head and has not the greatest typography, but if you pick that one I'm confident I can improve the line weights to match the music doohickey.

Pick a direction. You can make any number of major edits here. You only get minor edits after this phase, so make this edit phase count!

Size requirements is something I've gotta add to that dang form.

You've got the size about right on the second and third ones.
Im not too keen on the first one, but I like the second and third designs.

I dont know what I'd change with the second one, but perhaps some examples of the third one using different fonts?

I was thinking we could replace the trebel cleff with a bass or alto cleff. Just an idea. What are your thoughts on this direction?

There's also a lot I can do with this color scheme and with the typography itself, such as make it look scribbled in like version 1.2.

Really like the font on the second example.
I think you should stick with the Treble clef, as the other 2 clefs arnt as universally recognisable to the general population as the treble.

Not too keen on the 'Compositions by" bit though, rather just have 'Scott Graves' I think.

Perhaps add some notation along the bottom / under the stave like this?:

You can put the stems in the opposite direction like this if its going to obstruct the text:

Not too fussed what notes you put, or even if it makes sense musically  Tongue

Can I have you make an "Impmaster" logo? It'd be cool to have something of my own. Feel free to spend very little time on it.
