I'm going back to this and going to complete all of the Dota 2 heroes in one big card gallery.

Day 0: Original Batch (Anti-Mage, Axe, Invoker, Pudge)



Day 1: The Return (Io, Ancient Apparition, Storm Spirit Revamp)



Day 2: Sniper, Abaddon, Slardar, Crystal Maiden



Day 3: Faceless Void, Windranger, Drow Ranger, Clockwerk



Day 4: Juggernaut



Day 5: Nature's Prophet



This is an early sample of what I want the cards to look like.

Welcome back! I was wondering the other day what happened to you/the procedural metroidvania you were helping out with.

Some crits:
I think your major forms read very well, and you have good technique. I think some of the detail areas(head, chest) could read better.

Is this a personal piece? Or is it for some project?

Yeah it's good to be back. I'm mostly concerned with how I can shade the gem in the middle belt and how I can implement the designs on the that with little space. The chest I have no idea how to shade because I want to make him look fat without making it look flat (makes sense?)

It's just personal, really. Might sprite my favorite DotA 2 heroes lol.

The design is from DotA 2's Storm Spirit so I won't do that lol.



Did some changes to Storm Spirit (most notably the gem in the middle) and started working on Axe.

Started working on this guy. My criteria for choosing which hero to sprite is based on my friends' favorite heroes to use in DotA 2.

Is Pudge's head too big? (as well as body?)

Heroes done in order:

1. Storm Spirit
2. Axe
3. Anti-Mage
4. Pudge
5. INT Radiant (?)
6. INT Radiant (?)
7. STR Dire (?)

You can guess who the last three are before I work on requests.

Requests so far:
1. Naga Siren
2. Phantom Assassin
3. Skeleton King
4. Meepo
5. Nyx Assassin

i'm loving the character designs and the colors you are using, though i feel some of your silhouettes are weak. here's a quick edit i did of the purple dude



i turned his blades at an angle and used foreshortening to add some depth

keep up the good work!

Did some work on Pudge and I'm REALLY having a hard time doing his stomach and intestines (red parts) Can anyone help with that? Smiley

Also made Axe more vascular (not sure if it works) so he's got more shading going on in the body area. Smiley

One of the most complicated heroes to use (still think Meepo is harder to use) is actually VERY complicated to sprite too lol

Really just trying to beef up the portfolio and I guess the fact that nobody has done this for Dota 2. There are a total of 112 heroes to sprite, I want to make a huge card gallery like the old card gallery AbyssWolf (Ahruon) & Orkimides had. The Dota 2 community is really interesting and the guys who handle making the game normally reward the artwork community if it's worth it. Just wanted to do something to bring my name back up as a pixel artist.
