I guess like some of the progress threads in Art and Design (Fez, ZeroGear, etc.). They tend to be mostly screenshots + development info and usually are more popular than unreleased stuff in Feedback. I don't mean to make things more complicated, though. I like your system!

Oh, I see! Yeah, I think those work pretty well in Art and Design.

So I just thought of a possible problem; what if someone makes a game and posts it here, and only here, and it's posted to the frontpage? We can't link to it because only forum users with 10+ posts can see it, so it'll be off bounds to them... Perhaps its best to allow all users to read this forum, but only allow 10+ posters to post to it? Or will that just cause problems too? Hmm.

That sounds like a good idea, actually. Maybe it'll give some of the would-be-pluggers to take interest in the community and hang around

Even keeping them from posting sounds unnecessary to me. It seems like it would be enough to just keep them from creating threads.

People would then post about their stuff on other people's threads.

People would then post about their stuff on other people's threads. That would be pretty desperate But you're probably right. Either that or they'll just post to the "post games you want to see on TIGSource thread".

The rules have been relaxed for the Announcements forum (see first post). I think the community is strong enough now that it can police itself pretty well.
Plus we have Melly and Her Highness Martha Stewart around to kick your ass if you try to post any spam.
Ideally, I'd like to just prevent people from posting until they are not a manbaby, but since there's know way to do that without completely locking them out, we'll try it like this.

Heads up to newcomers:
If you have posted only a single post in the Intro thread and then a huge post about your game in Announcements, I will be moving your thread into Feedback. Likewise, if you have posted literally only about your game, I will also be moving your thread into Feedback. TIGS is not an advertisement machine. You are also much more likely to get positive and helpful responses on your game if it is posted in Feedback.
It's nothing personal, but I'd like to avoiding Announcements getting spammed by people looking to promote their latest game without contributing to the rest of the forum. This is a community, and if you don't want to be part of the community in a way which is unrelated to promoting yourself/your game, your thread will be moved to Feedback.
If your thread has been moved to Feedback and you find that it was moved unjustly, feel free to PM me to talk about it.

I have posted in the introduction section and I was wondering am I allowed to make an announcement now? I seen the 10+ post thing crossed out so does that still apply or no?

Please pick an avatar, when there's several (or dozens) of lowlevels/manbabies all in 1 topic I can't tell who is talking — you just seem like some random forgettable thingo!
Really shouldn't be able to post without an avatar, I reckon.
