That looks awesome 7Soul

I took a look at your devlog and saw you we're using C2.
I was wondering how you did the colored bits of text in this spritefont:

Please share your method. :D

Do not steal artwork.

I steal nothing. If I would have stolen it, I wouldn't even mention him, now would I?
We work together, and I'm merely posting the materials we have made together.

From the way you put it, it sounded as though you had minorly edited someone else's work to use as your own without their permission, which is something i have seen many times before. Apologies.

Oh ho ho ho

Are you ready for the dirtiest hack of them all?

First of all, here's the font:

And its character set:
ABCDEFGHIJKLMNOPQRSTUVWXYZabcdefghijklmnopqrstuvwxyz0123456789.,;:?!-_~#"'()[]`\/@+=*$<>%♂☺☻♥♦♣♠•◘○¢♀♪}☼►◄ḀḂḈḊḔḞḠḢḬĴḰḶḾṄṌṔɊṘṠṪṲṼẀẊẎẐáḅƈḓḛƒḡḣḯĵƙḽṃńōƣǫŗśťũṽŵẋẏẓ

And the actual text for that skill:
Your critical damage increases by 1% when you ḣḯť áń ḛńḛṃẏ. This effect lasts for 6 ♀♪}☼►◄♀ and can stack up to 25%.

So if I want anything in blue, I use the ŵḛḯŗḓ ḽḛťťḛŗś, and numbers are green by default. The only green word is 'seconds', which is spelled like ♀♪}☼►◄♀

oh come on, in my game you just |highlight text like this| using whatever color was passed into the function. I guess I wasn't creative enough to come up with a real solution Wink

I have way to much free time on my hands so I started making this
funject a few days ago to chip away on when I'm not working on
Treasure Star.

Kinda a cross between Broforce and Kazieko's Night Guild.

@thekill473 The graphical style looks nice, but what is the little black circle surrounding the player (and momentarily the treasure chest) for?

I've almost got working water.

Not quite there.

Edit:

Close enough. Right?

That's close enough unless water serves as a main part of the game.
You might want to work on it a bit more anyway, it looks pretty stiff for liquid.

Credit goes to buch for the art style: http://opengameart.org/content/a-platformer-in-the-forest

The little black circles are awareness points. If an enemy picks them up they become suspicious. Also the little red dot on his nose means he's sneaking.

Today I blocked out the demo level and added in grapple hooks.

It is a  main element of the game but it's probably just going to be a small game so I'm not too worried about it- it's functionally doing what I want it to, so I think it'll be fine.

Edit: Still nothing like a liquid, but now it's 100% predictable which is good for a puzzle game...
