I'm making an epic dungeon-crawler CRPG!
And I'd like to get an artist so I can focus more on features and gameplay, as well as make the game more pretty.
You don't have to be a sophisticated 3D artist!
Good taste in colors, style & art-direction and some 2D pixel art skills are more important.
The sort of art assets we will have to work through:
- Props - 2d sprites like rocks, grass, wines, spiderwebs, skulls, bones, etc
- Sprites for items - swords, armors, cosumables, quest items, spell icons, etc
- Sprites for tiles
- Sprites for enemies - options:
1) always forward facing sprites with few frames of animation
2) prerendered 3d sprites using poser or any sort of tool that lets you have high throughput
3) keyframed simple lowpoly 3d
4) blocky 3d a-la minecraft mobs - A pair of portraits to chose from - probably a few variatios with different facial expressions (smiling, hurt, badly injured)
- User interface work, graphics - buttons, hero creation screen, inventory screen, screen elements, etc
There's a lot of creative fun to be had.
(I will do the art assets myself if needs be, It wont stop me)
It has in-game voxely-level and object editor. Its fun and easy to create dungeons and levels with it! You can instantly switch between editing and game mode.
A huge portion of design decisions are not set in stone, we can shift the design of the game in any direction necessary.
The most important thing to note - I intend to ship and sell this game (which will probably force me to scale down heavily and work smarter on things). We will work through this. I'd stongly prefer a reliable long-term partner. Voice-over-IP, Skype, Teamspeak for communications.
