What kind of non-combat skills would you imagine to be in a futuristic sci-fi RPG? I'm brainstorming for a small little game I'm making as a school project, can anyone help me out?

No need to imagine, there are plenty of existing sci-fi RPGs you can look at. I always liked Gene Repleneshing: to live twice as long. Or some sort of portal that lets you look into the past.

Extrapolating today's useful skills forwards:
bureaucracy (filling in forms) bureaucracy (dealing with organizations) languages retro technology (to use older things) handwriting (rare future skill) cookery (rather than pre-pared stuff) driving (rather than robots doing it) diagonalization (messing with AI logic through conversation) bargain hunting google-fu

Here's some of the defense and escape abilities I used in a game I made. The theme was sci-fi-ish.
Defensive
Slow - Places a field around the player that slows any enemies and their projectiles within it for 8 seconds. Shadow - Allows player to move through enemies and enemy projectiles for 3 seconds. Barrier - Places a temporary barrier behind the player that lasts 8 seconds. Enemies can be trapped under the barrier. Freeze - Freezes all enemies near the player in place for 4 seconds, and clears all enemy shots near the player.
Escape
Blink - Blink through enemies, spikes and pits. Cannot blink through walls. Boost - Temporary speed increase for 3 seconds. Gateway - First use places the gateway, second use teleports to the gateway and clears it from the map. 8 second cooldown. Ghost - You are able to pass through walls and pits for 1.5 seconds. If you are still in a wall or pit when the effect ends, you die.

Thanks for all the ideas! The way the skills are set up is similar to those of Runescape (sorry :/), in the way that they have a main purpose that can also be expanded upon for other uses (for my little game so far, I have some skills such as chemistry, robotics, etc.) Any other suggestions? google-fu
Someday....

Here's one I didn't end up using in the game, but might in a future one
Cloak - All enemies that chase you stop in their tracks, and all enemies that can shoot at you will stop shooting, for 4 seconds.

Turn into a swarm of nanomachines and become a cloud of floating death. You can still be harmed by area of effect abilities. :p

Ansible/ entangled communication: Instantaneous communication over any distance to the matching ansible device or entangled pair. (As a "skill" this could be an implant.) Quantum divergence selection: The ability to see nearby divergent universes and merge into them. (For example, your party comes to a river but the bridge has been washed away in a storm. You can "see" a nearby universe in which the bridge is only damaged, so you enter that universe to cross the river.)
