I added charging rockets and tried to tweak it so that it felt right.

And if you don't like videos, here's the trajectory prediction at min charge :

(the rocket will actually hit something before reaching the end of the line, but adding collision detection to each dot eats cpu time)

And at max charge :

Perhaps a couple of fixed classes with kinda different weaponry, or a perhaps the item can select a few items/weapons from a wide range of them. Or maybe select gadgets for weapons, or something similar.

I'm still very much tweaking things in the gameplay department, so I'm open to ideas. Classes I'm not too excited about, mainly because the game also has straight deathmatch, and balance would be a nightmare.

I'm considering adding pickups in the map for special powers, like a super hook (faster, goes further), more powerful jetpack, antigrav boots, things like that. They would be temporary of course, but give an edge to a player who can grab it and use it properly.

I've been doing stuff for multiplayer, started getting chat working and things like that, so there wasn't much to show.

I finally changed the default green planet texture. At the moment I have a rocky/moon texture :

And an icy one, with way too much specular :

There is a "kill log" on the top left of the screen showing who killed who, with what weapon.

The chat also shows flag captures :

Those textures are miles better!

Yeah, the specular is a bit much but it's a nice effect.

Thanks!

I've noticed that specular reflections with a normal map of the texture gives a nice roughness to the effect, instead of a billard ball perfect reflection. So I'm abusing the effect. I noticed it a while ago while making textures.

Cool idea, reminds me of Star Trigon but in 3D.
