This is great! Reminds me of PvZ
Thanks! That's what I thought on first listen too.

@Thomas Finch:
Not sure if I said it before, but I love how proud you are of your musician's work!

Neither boastful nor egotistical - I can tell that you are profoundly pleased with his creations, and it does my heart good to see a developer with such a strong connection and level of contentment with work from his development team!

Another great track from him! Has that uneasy, eerie aura, and I love how open the piece gets at the 00:40 mark.
Thanks man! That really means a lot Smiley

@BGmusic
I think the one that really stood out came at the 4:21 mark (that switch from 7/8 to 4/4), and slightly at the 5:46 mark (switch from fast-paced and in your face to dark and tense).

Really though, it's not much! You've done a fantastic job with this piece.

I've been working on some music for Shinobi Justice: Tactics, a turn-based strategy game.

https://soundcloud.com/killallinstinct/training-in-the-shadow-of-ninja-mountain

"Training In The Shadow Of Ninja Mountain" is a concept I'm working on for the game. This piece uses two core aural components: a kota (stringed instrument heard throughout) and a line from Henry V (2 versions mixed together, one recorded by me). It's then framed with a 909 kit and an unobtrusive but deep synth for backing, with heavy compression on these two to create the pumping feel of the drum and bass. The NES-style chip used in the middle is used to break up the sound in an unexpected way, while maintaining the floaty feel of the piece.

It's been about twenty years since I visited the Nth dimension, and probably about twenty years since I heard the original theme song. Anyway, here's my rendition of the hum-worthy theme song by Patrick Phelan.

I'll never forget you, beetle-ant-gremlin-candy ninja-thingy you <3

Here's a track that's currently in development:

Sick stuff man.

I also enjoyed the backlog of techniques you used - I've always wondered what one had to do to get that deep, pumping, hip hop sound.

Howdy err'body!  Big Laff I'm new to the music scene, especially the game music scene. But what I'm looking for is some reviews on my music so far and some encouragement (if deserved) for continuing this electronic venture I've been taking with my music lately. I'm a guitarist of 5+ years and I've had experience with touring bands/musicians of all sorts. So click my link, listen to my one song I've made so far, and if you like it, let me know. Wink

I made this a while ago for a film project that never saw the light of day. My heart and soul is in this one.

I like the riff you've got. You could do with some better drum samples though, there are a lot of free drum sample packs available which you can find through a simple google search. Other than that I like what you've done with it. Consider adding a lead melody!

Well, if you're specifically wondering about the, "pumping," that comes from using compression. Using the kick drum as the compression input, you can have it affect the other tracks to varying degrees as you choose. If you like, send me a PM and I can go over it with you.

I have no idea how people usually do this, but I went ahead and wrote and recorded an entire soundtrack for a non-existent game. I am really hoping it gets passed around and something happens with it! Its mostly electronic, but the third song has some rippin guitar if that is your kind of thing. If you want to check out a few songs:

I recently posted some pretty laid back piano improvisation, based on a simple theme (the very first phrase being the only thing that was thought out ahead of time). It's pretty different from the kind of stuff I've had up more recently.

Hi. I'm no professional, but I do enjoy composing. It's nowhere near the quality of the people with actual music theory knowledge (since it is basically just me messing around in composition software until I get interesting results), but hopefully it's enjoyable nonetheless.

https://soundcloud.com/the-translocator/tracks
I compose each song to get across a specific style, not to fit my style. This is because I have no style. If a song called Hope sounded like a song called Ghost, then I would need to rethink how I name songs. Don't leave the page if you dislike one of my songs, instead skip to the next one, because it will be different.
Thanks for listening, and enjoy.

I uploaded the OST for the game I made. I should probably make the tracks fade out though. Anyway, check it!
