Made another track for my album.
I kept expecting a smooth percussion line to begin but it never does. If you intend to put this on an album release you might want to make a few tweaks. There's potential for the track to take the listener on a journey through a soundscape but it's mostly meandering in its current form.

For my contribution, I have some 70s stakeout noodling!

Thanks for the comments. I will add some drums and try and make this better. It's my first time trying to make an album, so it's really just practice until I can make something of note.
Your song is great! I love how it fits the theme you set while still feeling like it's own thing. If I heard this on the jazz radio station I would turn it up.

I am officially going to break my lurker status and post my SoundCloud: https://soundcloud.com/greggrossetti

I first got into composition in the early 90s when I was inspired by the music in the NES and SNES games I was playing. Between then and now, I pursued a career in music (almost done with a PhD in it), after realizing I had the right idea as a kid and should be focusing on game music. Now, I'm writing for a few games, but am always looking for more work. Thanks for listening!

I thought I'd share a track here and see what the game community thinks.

I've been messing around with mod trackers and DAWs since the 90's.

Hello friends. Maybe someone who sees this can repost it in a better part of the forum, I never posted here much. My friend Phillip Lanzbom aka PostPre (unsure of his username on this website) I'm told used to post here pretty often. He passed away the first day of the year and I've finally found the time to make a mix of my favorite music of his.  Please enjoy:

I haven't posted on this thread before, but I figured I'd contribute something a little different to the discussion!

You can hear this on my website (www.manfredoniamusic.com), but a direct link is the following:

https://soundcloud.com/tony-manfredonia/two-thoughts-for-solo-violin

It's a solo violin piece played by a First Violinist of the Philadelphia Orchestra! I had an opportunity to have it recorded. It's short - about 2 minutes in length with a very distinct A and B section.

I hope you enjoy it Smiley

I'm really more of a programmer, but while procrastinating with regards to coding I make some music.

Here's a thing that could be used as a theme song for a spanish or wild west hero or similar...

Would love some comments on this...

Thank you for listening! I'm making do with the samples I have... Nice trailer music -- did you have to write it according to set timed events in the video or could you influence the timing somewhat? I'm making a trailer for my own game but there I'm simply basing the video upon the timing of my music, which seems to me to be the easier and potentially more successful way of doing it, but I guess that's not how things work in the industry?

Basically I was given the video of the trailer, and then it was up to me to compose music to fit the picture. The original version of the music only had timing up to the countdown, but they didn't like the rest because they wanted it to be as tight as the first few seconds, so I had to do a lot of head-scratching on my end to make it work...It ended up pretty good though!

It honestly depends on who you work with, though, and how they do things. I've done music for games where they made a trailer using music I've already written for them, and for Clash of the Talons, they specifically wanted trailer music that fit perfectly with the images on screen. I honestly can't say the industry prefers one over the other, though I'd wager it's much easier for game devs to make trailers of their game using music that they already have from the composer.

Hey guys, I'm a video game and film composer, getting more into the game industry. Scoring a mobile game at the moment, which is making me realize just what large range of music can be required in games from small casual/indie games to bigger more epic AAA titles. Would love some feedback on my game music reel, does it show a good range of styles, or too many? Love to hear feedback! Thanks  Gomez

@Sam Oz
The arrangement was pretty good, I'd say to bring out the strings more with a compressor. Smiley

I tried to make a song inspired by NIER. This is probably my 3rd of so attempt. But I'm getting closer I say. Smiley
I used MuseScore's Soundfont, and FL Studio's default EQ, Reverb, Compressor etc.

Any fans of Final Fantasy 7/8 here? The Materia Collective just released two MASSIVE (5-6 disc each) remix albums of Nobuo Uematsu's music. Listen to them for free on Spotify, and nab them for $20 on Loudr/iTunes if you dig it. Here are a few tracks I contributed to our latest album, SUCCESSOR: Final Fantasy VIII Remixed, and our debut album, MATERIA: Final Fantasy VII Remixed. Enjoy and spread the word! If you like my tunes and want to follow me along for our next ride, like/follow/sub/etc blah blah blah. Cheers!
