Mr Dumle, I like the tunes.  I feel like they would find comfortable homes somewhere between Earthbound and Castlevania, which is a testament to your composing abilities.  Plus, some of those Garageband samples make me think of the good ol' SNES days.

A piece I did for Melly's game-in-progress, Under the Black Root. It ended up a little more melodic than I'd intended, but it's still a lot more ambient than anything I've done before.

Awesome song, Synnah.  Love how the distant strings detune to sound like the wind howling along with the chords.

I tried Musagi at the weekend, but I couldn't really get on with it.

Yeah, you really have to work through Musagi's lack of key features (like no undo or no easy copy and pasting patterns) and bugs to get things to sound right.  But i definitely like its sound.  I'll probably stick to Ableton Live and Reason until it's a little more stable.

Speaking of, here's a little song i made in Reason.

I did a new tune tonight: listen @ LastFM

I like this for the most part, a few quick suggestions:
In the opening section, the drums are really light - it matches the song okay but I think a little more punch wouldn't hurt. The synth that is gating (or arpeggiating on a single note) needs to be EQd so it's not so muddy (200hz region). A lot of the mixing is pretty muddy, and some EQ would help across the board.

The chord progression is also on the repetitive side, and some unexpected change is what my ears are begging for here - you really build up to the various drum changes which makes them expected.

The piano could use some reverb or more of a spatial element - play with the pannings.

This was just on a quick listen, I hope these tips help you out (:

Well if you don't like repetitive then avoid this...

Grinding, industrial.

A remix I did for a local band (sample cause I can't just give it away, apparently):

And a electro-rock track I'm working on (vocals pending):

Kovan, some pretty decent stuff. In my opinion, the industrial track could've used some more distortion / sharper sounds. I don't mind the grind there (it is part of the song idea) but the sounds you repeated could have been sharper.

feeblethemighty, I really like that Reason track. Nice drums and it bounces along well. My only complaint is that it seems unbalanced (panning-wise), I would've probably had the drums on the left, as it felt unbalanced (and I am a bit OCD with symmetry).

Kickass stuff Synnah, very atmospheric.

As for me, working on remixing a song from Pokemon Puzzle League (Team Rocket Spa Service Theme). I need to find out if there is some sort of resource-stealer for the ROM, because the game is full of awesome music. I'm not sure about the intro, nor that slidey background noise in the breakdown either. I am also looking to make it less repetitive.

Here is the 15 minutes of background music I made for dphrygian's Lovecraft compo entry.  It's a sort of spooky ambient tune.  The bits with "vocals" use a librivox recording of Lovecraft's Ex Oblivione as source material for the extra Lovecraftian spookiness.

I also found out that the myspace music thing is incredibly unintuitive to use!
Great fun!

I've been writing music for some time and I've always thought that my tracks could accompany certain games very well, for some reason. Nifflas-kind of games mainly, as they are pretty ambient (especially Dandelion Clock on my virb.com page) and sometimes sinister. Some of them are here:

The more 'songy' tracks are here:

I hope you'll enjoy! If anyone needs any music for any game he/she's making. just let me know! Smiley

Tristeza, that's good stuff you have there, it could indeed work very well for a suspenseful/emotive game. The rather caribbeanish rhythm you put in Dandelion Clock is such and odd combination that I love it.

policedanceclub, your stuff is good. Makes me wonder how you achieved all those sounds.

Some of my older music, hosted on Newgrounds:

The first two are deliberately game music, though I haven't used them in anything. The third was used as the score for a friend's film project in college.

I'm absolutely terrible at writing music, but I do try playing it on occasion. I've been trying to play Moonsong recently, and I managed to record this. It clearly needs a lot more work on intonation and such, but it's actually coming along better than most things. I just need to find a better way of handling the loud breathing sounds, and maybe a better way of recording the whole thing (the internet does not seem to know much about this).

Edit: Link fixed.

Edit2: Also, moving away from the microphone sounds like a good idea. I'll have to play with that some and see how far away I have to get. Alternatively, I could just come up with a 6-part arrangement so that there's always at least one other part playing when on it breathing.

Haha that chocolate rain guy is hilarious...

Soo, two friends and I made an album in six days, working during the past three weekends. This is lo-fi and mostly strange stuff, but I think we have something here, just don't expect careful execution.

Streaming, and zipped.
