I found some Korg percussion samples on the web waaay long ago and I still love using them. the snares are from the Korg set, but I took 3 and layered them on each other, each one panned a different direction(one mid, one left and one right) the kicks are made of a modified 808 kick sample and one kick sample from the same korg set. However, to get that loud feel you have to compress em like no one tomorrow(a little reverb never hurts either )! though to be honest the drums were more inspired by the drums in this song: http://youtu.be/mo1eZ3qjbRo*1:20 for the awesome drums*

I'm working on setting up a bunch of instruments for eventually attempting to make some epic orchestra / choir / metal stuff, similar to how X-Ray Dog's sound with their rocky/immediate stuff but I'll be going a bit more heavy than that. anyway, here's my latest test/progress http://soundcloud.com/onethousandorcas/orchestra-and-guitars-test

Here's a short, spacey, minimalist piece I composed for an indie game contest. The game was to feature the concept of time prominently, with a reverse time mechanism (think Braid). The first half of this is the regular song, and the second half is the song reversed. I think it came out sounding pretty cool. http://soundcloud.com/drakken/josh-freund-time-spaceThis is nice; I get a bit of a Minecraft vibe. Pretty cool. It could totally work in a game. I favorited your other song on Soundcloud; that bass part in the second half is great.

Why have I not been doing all these simple awesome things. Also that song is really cool, gonna look for the OST now.

Here's something I did quite a while back. [ link] It's a kind-of overworld theme inspired by having played Chrono Trigger for the first time. I still play it sometimes if only to listen to the music. And I know, it starts to drift a bit towards the end -_-
