^^^^ Dropped a comment on your soundcloud
Anyways, I dig your stuff! You effectively combine 8 bit and modern sounds. If I had one thing I would like to see in your tracks, though, it's beefier bass drums. I'd high-pass the chip bass drum and throw a low-passed 808 under it with some EQ, I imagine that would sound nice.

Thank you! I've been trying to figure out the best way to do that. It's been driving me nuts. Thanks!

Also remember to compress the 808 at 4:1 ratio, turn the attack down and release up all the way, and crank the input volume up until its waveform becomes a sausage of bass. My threshold's usually around -15.

Hey! I love this website. I'm brand new to it, but i love what all of you guys can do. Really inspiring! I have done a lot of different music for different projects. I've put the best of it on one soundcloud page and I would love all the feedback I could get. Thank you! http://soundcloud.com/steven-albanoCore of the Storm is nice. What do ya use for making tunes?

Thank you! That's one of my favorites! A few programs. I use Guitar Pro 5 to write everything out. I prefer writing sheet music over everything else. After I finish writing, I export it as a midi and then upload it to FL Studio 7. For the 8-bit sounds, I use a soundfont called "The NES Soundfont" created by a group called The Eighth Bit. I found it on youtube and it's great. It has a huge sound bank and very easy to use. They also have Sega Genesis soundfont, but it's not as good. I also use presets on FL Studio and tweek the sounds until I get the sound I need. The synths, wubs, vocal effects such as the vocal chopping in Eve's Arrival, are all edited and created on FL Studio I play these songs live and use other things as well. Since I play to a backing track, I add some flair to it. I have an old USB Game Pad that uses the keys of my keyboard. I found a program called "Joy To Key" that lets you assign keyboard keys to the game pad. FL Studio lets use your keyboard as a piano, so I now I have a game pad as instrument. It looks real neat and I can record it. Plus, it blows peoples minds, lol. But, if you do that, get a pad with a lot of buttons. My pad only has 10 buttons and a 4 way D-pad so I don't have a full piano scale to my disposal. And finally, it's not on this records yet, but I'm a bassist and I use Guitar Rig. I've been putzing with this for a little bit and I'm still learning it. I absolutely love this. You just plug your guitar or amp into the computer, get the right drivers, and your computer and speakers have now become a sound arsenal! The amount of presets and editing and recording you can do with this is beautiful. I hope that helps!

That's nice. I only use FL Studio myself. I've got a couple of soundfonts as well, from Chrono Trigger and Megaman X. Wanted to try out the awesome retro guitar.

I know nobody's probably going to listen to these, but in case anyone does, here are a couple of songs from my current game in progress, Soldier Of. The original theme of the Aqueduct. And some WIPs - Aqueduct - 2FurnaceListen to 'em in sequence, if you want to listen to 'em. The WIPs are kinda rough and are short, but I like 'em.
