Ozoh, it's very engaging. I like it a lot! I need to hear it on monitors to give a true opinion, but it's very well produced and interesting even on macbook speakers. What is your background in terms of education on music composition?

Thank you Smiley

I've been playing cello and learning music theory for 9 years in East Helsinki music institute, as a part of school. As you can see, I'm just 15.

Background in terms of ... composition? Eh, well. I'm pretty much self-educated, even though the theory lessons and music school give definitely a great base to build on. I just listen to a lot of music and try to do something similiar.

I really started composing music with computer programs, or "making" music, as I tend to call it, a year ago.

Fantastic! I'm twenty two. I've been studying music composition in college for the past few years. You should really consider finding a good professional composer in your area and studying with them. Although you're doing awesome on your own I can guarantee you with some direction from a strictly classical sense you could be amazing in a few years. Theory is really important so it's good that you're getting that kind of guidance. It's amazing how many self taught composers there are out there. I was very much like you in, but without the music theory background and instead of cello it was violin. Have you had your music recorded by live musicians before?

Ooh..

Nope, my music hasn't been recorded live, but I admit that that would be amazing Shocked
One problem: I never write any score, even though I probably should.

Yeah! It's very important. Check out Sibelius for notation, great programed and well priced!
Would you mind giving me feedback on these two pieces of mine? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-xu2_HXm3HE&feature=plcp

Both were recorded at a sight reading session.

I'll look into that, then!

The first one, Symphonic Sketch No.1 was beautiful. I hear some mistakes/dissonances somewhere, but as it's prima vista, I don't see it as a problem. At a couple of places I feel like there's too many different things happening around you. For example around 4:42. It might be just me though.

The second one, No 27 - String Quartet is really interesting and impressionistic. It just kept me listening, because I never knew what was coming next. This was really cool!

Thanks for the detailed feedback! The issues in the Symphonic Sketch are due to it being a first reading. Have you written anything for full orchestra?

Thanks Mono - it's true - i wish it was bigger too. The challenge is bringing more people together i feel but i suppose there should be more open discussions here? Instead of people coming, posting and leaving? This place looks a bit like a portfolio section sometimes.

Anyway, don't want to get off topic! Keep posting your great music people!

Hey guys.

Woke up one day and started humming on this arp. couldn't shake it off No No NO so I had to jot it down.
I think the melody could be somewhat related to the tutorial level in "Lost Vikings".

Anyways. An easy playful retroish thingy. Durr...?

A track I made for a physics game I was working on but stopped. I've now decided to use it as the menu music for my current project. I really like the sound of the medusa2 synth, arped and delayed with no dry signal.

I don't usually do buildups but I did one in this track and I think it worked out. Theres also a lot of sub bass which is always nice. Thoughts?

A track in wip. I don't really sample all that often but it is fun and there is really no way to recognize the original vocals. Smiley

EDIT: Made an extended version. Hopefully I will get some tracks together for an ep.

working a lot on this track, from my current in-dev game. the song is set for a a fields/plains like area somewhat like this photo: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Vincent_Van_Gogh_0020.jpg , an area meant to be a calm intermediate area between dungeons.
