Finally sat down and composed a new song! It's a minor-sounding/moody piano piece - surprise, surprise. Not sure why I'm so naturally drawn to those; I guess minor stuff just seem more interesting to me. This one reminds me a bit of In Bruges' main theme at times. Definitely appropriate for a soundtrack - probably more on the film side, though. http://soundcloud.com/drakken/a-strange-encounterAnd that's saying something! Haha. Cool track. Love the subtle C64 blips in there at the change at 0:20.

... i don't want to post it in the wrong place :x
Post in the wrong place? Here? ABSURD. :D For a full album I don't see why making your own thread would hurt. :p That's what I was thinking. Make a new thread in the audio section and let the good times roll. Alright, thank y'allll! I want to make sure I'm not being a bad forum person... and hey sajextryus, lightslurrs has me in a trance- it's got a nice "ring" to it. hyponotic.

Hah, that's pretty cool. Is that main sound a heavily-processed sample of some kind, or is it a synth instrument? The drums have probably been the hardest part throughout the process of making this soundtrack. It's difficult to get the samples to sound bassy enough while still keeping them sounding somewhat lo-fi. I'll probably take another run at the drum samples at some point. Thanks for the feedback!

It's actually "the past" instrument from the earthbound soundfont.

Totally agree, I like the chippy intro, further in really reminded me of Honeyhive Galaxy. And 5/8 is always nice, too.

@swordofkings128 Thanks for the compliment! I hope to use that in something soon, someday. Here's another old chiptune song I made a while ago. It's really repetitive though, in my opinion. http://sajextryus.bandcamp.com/track/the-world-of-alternate-decisionsI'm hoping to get to work on some ambient tracks soon.

Hey y'all! I haven't visited the forum in a while due to life but I'm eager to get back into things. Here are a few short tunes I finished over the last week A mysterious/jungle ruins kinda vibe: https://soundcloud.com/scorevgm/kalimbaMy first techno track: https://soundcloud.com/scorevgm/hypothesis-209Rubato solo guitar melody: https://soundcloud.com/scorevgm/lullabyOne thing that I'm eager to know is how the mixes sound to you all. I compose the tracks while using headphones and then tweak the mix by listening to them through both the speakers on my Apple display and my MacBook Pro, trying to find a decent balance so that they sound fine on all three. I feel like the Apple products' speakers are terrible while my headphones are really nice, so there's a substantial gap in quality. Any kind of feedback would be much appreciated.
