Hey y'all!  I haven't visited the forum in a while due to life but I'm eager to get back into things.  Here are a few short tunes I finished over the last week

A mysterious/jungle ruins kinda vibe: https://soundcloud.com/scorevgm/kalimba
My first techno track: https://soundcloud.com/scorevgm/hypothesis-209
Rubato solo guitar melody: https://soundcloud.com/scorevgm/lullaby

One thing that I'm eager to know is how the mixes sound to you all.  I compose the tracks while using headphones and then tweak the mix by listening to them through both the speakers on my Apple display and my MacBook Pro, trying to find a decent balance so that they sound fine on all three.  I feel like the Apple products' speakers are terrible while my headphones are really nice, so there's a substantial gap in quality.  Any kind of feedback would be much appreciated.

First of all, apologies to everyone for my long absences; even if I wasn't so caught up with schoolwork, I recently had a detour of kinds of music made: frankly, I feel my most intense horror-themed music is beginning to all sound the same, for one.

That being said, I wrote this synthwave music. Unlike prior pieces, this took a few days to complete, whereas most are finished within an hour or two. If anyone can sense improvement in my writing because of the extra time, please let me know.

I realize this may not be the best game music, but I'm still interested in people's thoughts.

Hey guys,
my name is Jaccob McKay and I'm a composer from Melbourne, Australia

I study "Interactive composition" at the Victorian College of the Arts and I'm really interested in music for games and film.

You can check out some of my work on http://soundcloud.com/jaccobmckay

Right now I'm getting into more electronic music similar to that in the Tron: Legacy soundtrack by Daft Punk but I can write music in any style.

Paid jobs are good but if it's a cool project then working for free isn't a problem.

I work mostly with chiptune. My usual tool of choice is Famitracker (And thus, I mostly make NES music), though I do work with VGMMaker and ModPlug on occasion.

My channel, and quite a bit of my music, is here:

Super dope! Some notes totally reminded me of Katamari. Can you link me to anything about the game?

There was an old version called paper physics which you can play here (I think).
There's not a devlog for the new version though. I don't think there's much about it anywhere! I've played through the whole thing and it's got sum fun-ass puzzles :~)

I second that it gives that certain katamari vibe. very enjoyable !

Here's two things I did more recently.
Derelict Space I wanted to achieve a sort of desolated floating in space feeling. Not meant for any game.
Blast Off! it loops seamlessly, and is supposed to be for a scifi arena shmup that is currently in limbo due to circumstances. and Soundcloud would always throw an error at me, that's why it's from my DB...

I am not really a musician but I made this loop for a 1GAM entry maybe. Any critique would be appreciated.

@s_l_m The melody is surprisingly good for something written by someone who doesn't consider themselves a musician. Smiley

Wrote this using a hardware synth whose battery I had to replace.

Thank you, I play a little guitar and ocarina, but not enough to call myself especially musical.

I really enjoy your track btw

Here is the music that I made at GGJ 2013 for the game "Change of My World".

Originally the music is constructed during the game by combining 1 second loops, each of which are attached to a specific move type of the character. Later, I made a special arrangement and released as a single under my electronica project Analog Sheep.

Google Play: http://su.pr/17k2l8
Bandcamp: http://su.pr/22eQm0

I hope you like this one.
