My name is Kornel Kisielewicz ( admin at chaosforge.org ) from ChaosForge ( http://chaosforge.org ). I am the author of DoomRL / Doom, the Roguelike ( http://doom.chaosforge.org ).

I'm searching for artists for an unannounced commercial roguelike game. The art would need to be pixel art in the 16-bit style (not 8-bit retro), similar to what Derek Yu has made for DoomRL. I'm also planning to include animation on a simplified level ( kinda what Steam Marines uses -- see http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E_RBf4lmhd4 ).

The exact terms depend on what kind of cooperation you would be interested in -- details due to the nature of the project would be discussed in private. This is not a immediate need project, but I'd like to find people as soon as possible if they would like to help out with the art direction also.

How many artists are you looking for?  I'd be happy to contribute, I'm really into animation so I'd be happy to get in on that.  If you'd like to PM me with a few more specifics about the game/what you're looking for from the artists then I'd be very pleased to know more!

Bascially the style from DoomRL ( http://doom.chaosforge.org/screenshots ) -- my main problem with most applications is that bright 8-bit cartoonish style seems to be the standard now -- while in my case, I want exactly the opposite - a dark, full-color, semi-realistic, dirty and gritty style (like DoomRL and Stream Marines maybe even more). Unfortunately no one has such things on their portfolios...

I'd like to give a few sprites a shot,
if you end up liking them then we can talk about money-junk.

So how's about it?

Me and my brother also really like DoomRL btw, even if it kicks our asses.

Cheers,
Trevor.

I'd like to work on some environmental art, if possible.  Should I make a mock-up?

I'm interested in this -- haven't actually gotten around to playing your game ( Embarrassed ) but super fascinated by roguelikes in general. I don't have anything exactly in the style you're proposing, but I hope my portfolio demonstrates I could hit it. Shoot me a PM or an Email?
