Too scared that I compiled every line of code I made. I guess we're on the same problem with a different path. Tell you what, let's finish this thread:

COMPILE NOW.
NOW.
.

When I started programming I was so scared I would compile like every 2 lines:
"cout << "Hello world" << endl;
Did I type that right? Better check. Screamy"

I've gone months programming projects without a compile.  I find I prefer to work that way with some projects.  Sure the 1st compile is a bit daunting, but usually it isn't too bad.  Some of us just work differently...

I've been programming for years and I've never compiled once.  I make the computer do it for me.

That's nothing. My record of coding without compiling/running and getting correct behaviour in the end is 3 days. Other devs report having done the same and feeling wrong because there was no apparent bug to solve.

"No bugs." is the worst bug ever. That means it will completely explode in the user/client's face upon demonstration.

Or that someone made a pact with the devil :D But one measly soul for no bugs at all? It sounds too good to be true :D

One night I re-wrote a two player game where you shot each other. When it was done(the shooting, the killing, the re-spawning) I ran it. Oh dear god why. I got so many errors when I fixed them it just didn't run; it kept crashing when I ran it. That was a lost Friday night.

These days working with multi-threaded code I highly fear to not see bugs that occur only rarely and are impossible to reproduce...

When I code something and compiles it the first time without errors, my heart sinks. I just know somewhere down the road that code is going to come back and haunt me!
