Powerglove is the best and this game looks perfect. The design is just so honest to the gameplay, I haven't see much like that outside of indie games. It looks fun, but without the guilt of war or murdering in cold blood for XP, it's just laser tag with giant neon lizards and I want it badly. It's stupid and admits it stupid. I'm generally not a fan of "ooh look at all my nostalgic references" stuff, but our generations entertainment was just a dumb version of the 80s, which was a crazy version of the 70s, so hopefully coming full circle puts an end to it and we can move onto some new creativity. EDIT: wait wasnt far cry 3 derided for being a piss poor attempt at "mature" storytelling? if this is the devs responding to criticism by turning their own gam into a joke that's actually kinda funny.

It's cool but somehow a waste to make it a stupid comedy. That mood has the potential to be a substantial thing on its own. That would be ace.

The type of self-aware jokes certainly makes it look that way. I'm not sure if the homage is that ironic actually, it feels more like Black Dynamite to me: yes, it revels in everything questionable about that time period, but it plays it straight too because it's presented in a way that makes it look like it could actually come from that period. The ironic jabs seem more aimed at modern gaming stuff than the eighties. |

Oh yes, I was so waiting for the comeback of 90s style FPS right after they discovered colored lighting effects, and every environment looked like the inside of a clown's intestines after eating a bag of skittles.
