I've just uploaded a Linux version too but I have absolutely no idea if it will work as I don't have Linux running on anything Good luck if you are brave enough to try!

Oops, I meant to update that to say the Linux port is DOA, apologies - I need to learn about that stuff and get a Linux test env
The PC & Mac build seem ok though so please give it a try and tell me what you think!
Cheers Nick

Played some after work tonight -- I really, really like this and could see myself spending a lot of time with it. The only suggestion I'd make (and it's possible it's hidden in here already and I just missed it) would be to make inventory management a little less cumbersome. I'd like to be able to either have a dedicated button for melee attacks and another for ranged or an option to switch weapons without having to navigate through the menu.
With all that said, I love the art style (the blobs especially) and the lighting is great (though I do miss the pixely lighting from before). I've been following this game on Twitter forever and I'm thrilled that I was able to try it.

Hi, thanks for trying the demo and posting your thoughts! I'm planning to split the inventory into different pages for weapons and consumables which should help a bit, and I'm also thinking of a good way to integrate weapon switching in game without going to the menu. I'll post an update when I get these in Cheers, Nick

Just a really quick update to show that I've been working on some boring stuff like keyboard config. As you can see I now have weapon quick change buttons which is very handy.
** oops something went wrong and the image was HUGE I'll fix later! <3 **

Hi,
I just tried the game five minutes. I like the art and lighting. The plant monster, not moving nor shooting, seemed a little... I don't know... unnecessary (?). The green blobs shooting at each side of their body are interesting to fight, especially in pairs.
The feeling of the hero, moving and jumping, is good. An odd thing : after a jump, he seems to lay foot on platforms even if still quite far from the edge (maybe just a personal feeling).
Keep on like that !
(sorry for the english)

The plant monster...
Hey, thanks for trying it! The green plants serve both as a hazard obstacle and a resource. I don't know if you tried destroying them but they drop a lot of resources like arrows and various types of berries that can be used to heal poison etc :-)

The shadows being cast from your blocks makes no sense.

Hi, I've opted for a very simplistic shadow technique that isn't dynamic, so it will look wrong in lots of places.

I think I got the wrong feeling because I didn't test enough to appreciate the goodies the plant drops. Keep on the good work !

Demo UpdatedHey! I've updated the demo build to version 0.4 I really think this version is a big improvement over the last build so please give it a try! We now have customizable controls and joypad support, and a lot of features have been tidied up. Also we have quick switching between equipped weapons which is useful. Again, please give it a go (on windows or mac) and let me know what you think! cheers! http://thedungeoning.wordpress.com/demo/Nick

This is awesome! Someone pointed me to this on Twitter, and I love roguelikes like this, so this looks very promising so far.
How do you feel about Youtube casters - yes or no, with or without monetizing? The reason I ask is because I'm part of a channel and would be interested in casting a playthrough.

Hey, I'm totally fine with YouTube videos of my stuff but please let people know this is a pre-release alpha and the game will be improved in the final version Nick
