Wah, short!
In that case I think it's time to learn Game Maker.  Apparently it's good for rapid creation?
I have one idea so far, but it's far too big.  I'll have to be brutal and prune it to its core.  Or else think up a different one.

Man, I sure wish the competition didn't directly coincide with my final two weeks of university.

This.

Bah - and I was so determined to enter the next competition. It's just not going to happen though, I'm afraid. Gigantic assignments looming everywhere!

I'd be more than happy to join this compo, but I'm afraid my only tallent is in the art department. Absolutely love to have an excuse to do a bit of lovecraft/Giger like insanity.

This.

This, too. I have to study, goddammit Cry

Also, I'm disappointed because a two weeks compo doesn't do Lovecraft justice. AT ALL. Sad The theme just cries out for some plot-heavy stuff, and that's hardly feasible in this time span.

I may still start something, but I sure as hell won't be able to finish it...

I think Derek's placement of this compo was very ill-timed.

It would be totally unreasonable from me to start working on a game for this compo, so I'll probably enter something based on one of the great premises from the CPB

"man likes to talk to his dog. One day, the dog answers! great commotions."

how strict are the rules regarding the theme?
is it okay if the game does not directly use one of the ideas, but rather is inspired by them and has a similar theme?

also, this compo is totally a katamaran vs dalmatian giraffe rip-off.

I think maybe it would be better to use only one of the CPB ideas, there are 221 of them.
also yeah, KvDG ripoff  Cool

This is an amazing competition. I will try to do something playable, but the time is kind of short.

Can we use more than one commonplace book idea per game?

Well,I've read through the list, and I'm disappointingly uninspired. I have a few ideas, but they are either waaay to complex, or ridiculously stupid. I still want to contribute though, and seeing as there is no team-up thread, I'll post my offer here.

Artist looking for work! Sprites, backgrounds, maybe some menu art? Need help? Let me know! I don't have THAT much time, but I have more than enough to contribute some art to a needy game. PM me or something.

I'm pretty busy with school, but I may as well submit a quick game. If everyone else is too busy to make something, I win by default.  Gentleman
