I'll just have to enter something then, won't I. We shall see. I've never read any Lovecraft though.

HP Lovecraft was one fucked up dude.

Corpse slowly comes to life and stands up. Tries to escape—leaps, bounds, and struggles—but sorcerer holds it. Continues with magic formula. Corpse sticks out tongue and sorcerer bites it off. Corpse then collapses. Tongue become a valuable magic talisman. If corpse escapes—hideous results and death to sorcerer.

I like this idea a lot! It's unlikely I'll have time to do anything, because this real analysis homework ain't going to... analyse... itself, but if I get a chance I think that is the one I will use.

SO HANDS OFF*!

Can we use more than one commonplace book idea per game?

I don't know if it's too big an issue, but I'd like to know, too.  Some o' 'em offer some neat concepts, but not a whole lot of substance, and some o' 'em are ripe for combining...

The rules are at the top of the thread, everything else is yours to decide.
And I don't think every thread is forced to display the CPB text at the beggining like evrybody does.

This complete and utter newb inspired to join by this competition thanks you for the extension.

How quickly can I learn GameMaker and proper pixel art?  How hard can it be to animate a Deep One?? Let's find out!

Hurray for the extension!  It would have been cool to end on Halloween, but this does mean that it's much more likely that I'll be able to get something done to submit.

By the by, would it be possible to start a co-op thread for this compo?  And if it wouldn't, are there any artists out there looking for a coder?  I have a feeling ASCII art isn't going to cut it for me this time and I probably won't have time to do all the art that I'd like even WITH the extension.

Gay originally means happy.

On a totally unrelated note, Horror till American Giving of Thanks Festival? Derek, I could kiss you.  Kiss Well, hello there!

*Considering my track record, please ignore this statement. Seeing as it's easily the strangest entry in the book, I'd love to see what people do with it.

From the dark corners of the unknown, this way comes a dark and hideous creature-

from MEXICO.

I mean hi, I'm entering this and since I've never entered a contest (or fully finished a project that wasn't just for dinking and doinking (not that kind of dinking and doinking (not that kind either, you pervs))), I thought I would post here just as a heads up before an unknown man posts garbled code that kills him in his sleep.

I think you can already tell from my writing style that your eyeballs will vomit if I make an IF game. Hope to heck that I don't!
