Not sure if there is a developer need for this, if not please disregard. As a fellow game developer, wanted to shoot this info out to you. For any indie developers out there who might need mobile optimized character and weapon assets. (3) character packs, each with (5) character variations and 10 animations each. Thats a total of 15 characters and 30 animations. I'm trying an experiment here with asset creation. There is also a low poly weapons pack and a low poly melee weapons pack that comes bundled with the characters!

@ hippocoder - Thanks man! I am thinking a coffee cup with hot coffee would make a fine weapon!

Finished this little guy up (Civilian Male Nurse) He uses a tweaked model, but all animations from all other characters will work on him. The civilians will be getting their own custom animations, hiding, panicking, etc. I put in a simple iPhone mockup (yes it's an old ass phone)...just to show something more realistic to how they would appear on device. This rather than judging by the blown up screenshot images from a desktop computer. Btw that is an unlit screenshot, vertex coloring is doing the shading...so you could use a completely unlit shader in Unity (cheapest they come).

Finished up the 2nd Civilian texture variation. Same specs as the other civilian, 396 Polygons, 16 Bones, 512x512 texture map.

If you'd like to see more of the pack check out:

3rd Version of the Civilian Characters. This is just a normal office-working guy. If you'd like to see more visit the asset pack page.

First set of male civilians are completed. Moving on to producing some civilian female versions. Unfortunately textures can only take me so far when it comes to getting a female look, so I have to tweak the model to a unique version.

As always if you haven't checked out the entirety of the pack, feel free to visit the page:

First female civilian model. No texturing, UVs or biped setup yet. She comes in at 721 polygons, so not too much higher than her male counterparts. Turns out females have more curvature than male models.

Are you sure you are making these models yourself and not stealing copying them from someone?
The female model looks better than the male models, not just due to the fact she is more curvy.
For instance, the male models don't have a thumb in their hand and the female model do have.
I also wonder why you showed another artist's models in your indie go go page.

Edit: also the weapons look like they have more details than the male models, so how are those usable?

Little demo of the vertex coloring "tech" for the assets in the Character and Weapons pack. I am including the unlit - vertex colored shader for Unity with these assets.

@Pompi - No I'm absolutely modeling/texturing these 100% myself. The female will look a little different, she's not based off the male model. She's from a model I created some time back and I reduced poly count, created UVs for her and am texturing right now. I didn't feel like collapsing her thumbs (they are crude as is). I did show some samples from an artist who popped up publicly in Google. I am not using his models, etc...in fact if you look on my page none of my characters so far look like his. I have credit for his images, and put his name on there (to show they were not my images). They are there simply as a generic reference to what low poly civilians would look like.

Lastly the weapons are very low poly, but are also detailed enough to use in a FPS view as well. Everything in this pack is low poly and optimized. I've spent a career doing DS, 3DS, Wii, iPhone and Android development so I draw on that experience to judge what is most optimal. Thanks for your comments and checking everything out!  Smiley

Finished up the texturing for the first female variation. Once the animations are done, I will more than likely go back in and add more detail to the textures (final texture polish pass on all characters).

Hi everyone. I got a very good start on the character animations for the civilians. These animations are shown on the female character, but will be applicable to all of the civilians. I will be creating a more masculine walk, jump, etc. for the male civilians. This is a total of (20) animations and will be more soon. I haven't added in the weapon firing animation or crouched firing.

Assuming most of you have the webplayer installed, here's a realtime preview.

So I've completed the civilian pack and the ton of animations they all have. What a lot of work, but it was well worth it to see all of them together and working.

Here is a web demo of their animations:
