"191 An odd wound appears on a man’s hand suddenly and without apparent cause. Spreads. Consequences."
The player has some sort of demonic arm that evolves throughout the course of the game, Giving him new abilities.

This sounds cool. Will it progress in the style of a metroidvania, or with exp, or at arbitrary intervals? Perhaps you could make the game a little disturbing/disconcerting by making each new evolution more dangerous and self-destructive than the last.

I was thinking of making the character go more insane as his arm progresses. Sure is GOD HAND around here
Haven't played it, though I realize that this is not a very original idea.

What, like a leg where his arm should be? That would be pretty cool.

Haven't played it, though I realize that this is not a very original idea. Yeah, even Devil May Cry 4 uses that as a premise, and I'm pretty sure a lot more games have picked that up on it. But don't get discouraged, I didn't mean it in a bad way

Also Onimusha, But I'll try to avoid the "awesome armored glove" look and go for something more grotesque.

It means "gift" in Luganda (Luganda being an eastern African language).

Throughout the game you'll have to combine the usage of both human and demonic powers. Each level is designed to have challenges that pretain to the current state of your body. For instance, at the beginning of the game, you'd be able to reach through flames and other extremely harmful things, allowing you to grab things, flip switches, etc. Later, when half of you're body (and head) is demonic, you can switch between demonic and human thought, allowing for all sorts of interesting puzzles.
