Tonight I begin the process of hand animating the characters. This... will be fun. Painstakingly long. But fun.

I'm upgraded this to 20%. Primary character animations are complete. I'm currently working on secondary characters at the moment. In progress as seen below.

Great to see the WIPs  Smiley

Much thanks. Animation sets for the supporting cast is fortunately not extensive, and there's only one more primary character to animate.

Edit:

Somehow forgot to post this. Which was the point of updating the thread.

Think I'm closing in on the end of the supporting cast. Two or three more I believe.

Well with such beautiful line art and the main character being named Kit, I'll definitely have to give it a go :D

After another all nighter, finished off the supporting cast. Just need to do a few animation frames of mouth and arm movements and then the entire batch of characters and backgrounds will be ready to send off to coloring.

Well with such beautiful line art and the main character being named Kit, I'll definitely have to give it a go :D

I appreciate it Smiley Working hard, working hard.

The pencil situation has become dire.

With the supporting cast complete I'm moving this to 30%. So what are the next few stages in development?

1.) Complete supporting cast animations (very minor five frame animations).
2.) Ship off for painting.
3.) Have music scored for scenes.

This will compose the next 20% of the game. When the painted scenes and characters have returned they'll be run directly into the game engine which will allow them to walk around on the backgrounds I've composed. At that point, object scripting, tying locations together, event scripting, etc, will compose the last half of development.

As soon as I've gotten new high res scans of the backgrounds I'll post them here, sort of a media showcase. For now, I'll just say woohoo!

Stocked up on pens, pencils and paper today. I'm almost through with my supporting cast animations and have become confident enough to say I'm going to go ahead and introduce animated cutscenes, of lengths of about 30 seconds to one minute, to help convey the story at junctures.
