Cloudface: 100% Guaranteed Game is a hand-animated 2D platformer with graphics and humour inspired by games like Earthworm Jim & the Warioland series. You control a cheerful business-cloud on a quest to save his important documents. Use weather-based powerups & manipulate enemy abilities to solve puzzles.

REALLY old pre-alpha build

I love the cartoon style  Kiss

If you can't find a programmer, try something like GM or Stencyl, it's pretty easy to learn.

If you do that I can help you here or there. As I already said, the animation is really awesome.

I actually have a copy of GM, and although I've spent some time in it poking around, I am far too non-technical & impatient to ever think I could make a game on my own with it. Cloudface is my spare time project, & what little time I have I don't want to be stumbling around, wrestling a program into submission & making THE SLOWEST progress. I just don't have the brain for it. That's why I make draws  Durr...?

The past couple weeks I've been doing exploratory environment & enemy sketches. Here's a few randomocities from that.

These next couple weeks I'm going to try and solidify the overarching story. The story in Cloudface will be pretty minimal, akin to the 'storylines' from the canon SMB games. I hate when games are all story and no game, so I want to keep it extremely minimal so you can just jump in and start playing.

That might be neat to mess around with. Is that for CS3?

So I posted on reddit for a programmer & surprisingly got a handful of people interested. I did not expect anyone to reply. Right now I'm just trying to figure out who to work with.

Sure!

What language(s) do you use, Barley?

ALSO: What's the etiquette for programmers? Do you call programmers coders? Or is that what old people call programmers? Is it interchangeable?
Oh man,

I hope I didn't offend any coders..

PROGRAMMERS GAH!

I'm pretty familiar with AS3 and python, and I've done some game stuff before in Java and C#, as well as Android stuff in Java. I don't have any problems learning new languages and libraries/engines if need be.

And coder/programmer/lord are all fine

@kitheif Thank you!

Barley, if you can do anything with those sprites I'd love to see it. Although for the actual game I think using vector images is ideal, for zooming in and out of the playfield & for cut scenes as I'm using Flash for everything. But I don't know how any of that works coding-wise.
